Hi everybody, hope someone can help shed some light on this.
Due to a small error in the LCD display of my RCD 510 with dynaudio system the whole player was refitted. I however got a player with grey buttons (on the screen) instead of the black I had before. Have attached 2 pics from the web to illustrate this. The sound has considerably less punch in the lower range. I suspect that my previous player had an extra amp or something for the dynaudio option. The refitted stereo plays different for sure, could it be less powerful?
Thoughts?

Re: Workshop fitted wrong RCD 510?!?!
The DynAudio amp is under the passenger seat not in the RNS unit. If its not working then they may not have connected it correctly !! Speak to 182_Blue or RW1 they know this field better than most.
EDIT: also the colour change is just a different skin, i believe there are 3 to choose from and can be changed using a VAGcom. There is a thread about this somewhere.

There is no question that the sound is not as good on low frequencies.
Wonder if the workshop changes motors from 160hp to 122hp as well without any warning.

Johan
it definitely sounds like they have forgotten to code the dynaudio into the rns, ie they haven't told it that dynaudio is fitted.
last time I looked the workshop can't just code in a supercharger.

The colour is just a coding issue, there are 3 to choose from and they have put the wrong one in, as for the sound i suspect that they have not told the new headunit that there is a soundpack installed, all RCD510's share the same internal amp so its nothing to do with different amps, they need to adjust setting as below :-

Take it back, like Trix says thats sounds just like an engineer FAIL !!johanvs wrote:There is no question that the sound is not as good on low frequencies.

No way, they wouldnt be able to change something as significant as your ECU and drop you 40bhp without warning. For starters it would invalidate your insurance.johanvs wrote:Wonder if the workshop changes motors from 160hp to 122hp as well without any warning.

Re: Workshop fitted wrong RCD 510?!?!
My understanding is that screen skin colours cannot be changed on the RCD510, only the RNS510 using VCDS. Age of manufacture determines the skin colours for the RCD510.
