Haha, I think road clearance might be a bit of an issue! Probably not very suitable for the UK roads in their current state!Candy Monster wrote:how about one of these...

I've had the Freelander for 2 years, and swapped it for a new Hyundai Santa Fe, which is almost two years old and looking to shop it in soon. Candidates are Discovery Sport, Audi Q5 or Ranger Rover Evoque...wonga24 wrote:Having the same problem atm, can anybody help?
In the meantime, the other '4x4' I've just swapped an Audi TTS to an Audi S5 Sportback which drives much better than the Santa Fe
I suppose it depends on what criteria you're after...

Those new discovery sport they are really nice. Very similar to an Evoque. And I bet that s5 goes like a rocket.

Re: Next car... What 4x4 to get?
Just been in a discovery sport, as said very like an evoque, drives very car like compared to a freelancer and even with the same old 2.2 4 cylinder 190bhp diesel engine (which normally sounds van like), with improved sound insulation and the 9 speed gearbox, engine noise is very much improved. The whole car rides very smoothly even over some of the worst roads out in the middle of nowhere...
Yes the S5 does go like a rocket, though have to say being 1.7 tonnes and not short of 5m long, I'm not so keen to chuck it round corners at quite the speed that I would have taken the TTS or the Roc at. Though that might be partly also just me getting old!
