Sat Nav DVD???

Post by cole trickle »

Just got my rocco with sat nav. Should I have a DVD for the navigation unit? And if yes is it in the main head unit.

I know this sounds a dumb question but my dads Audi has a DVD and I thought the Scirocco did as well but I can't find it. About 50% of my hard drive seems to be taken up with nav info but i thought I should still have a DVD.

Anyone help???

Why don't you check if it's in there?
Yes you should have the DVD even though it will also be downloaded onto the HD.

Phone your dealer and inform them asap otherwise they might be reluctant to give you a £100+ DVD afterwards, try looking in the glove box or the boot, sometimes during shipping they will put any extra bits there but the dealer should have cleaned it up before handing it over to you.

Just call them and get it resolved

I did check... by pressing eject.

I was just checking as some sat nav units have the provision for holding both the DVD and a CD. Also some of the Audi have the slot for the DVD hidden away in the glove box and i wanted to check there wasn't something I'd missed.

It's already on my list of things to check with them, just thought I'd run it by people on here in case there wasn't meant to be one.

Had to return to dealer to have software installed, took about 2 hours, and left with the DVD still installing.

Took pic of DVD and case. Not sure why, just fancied taking a picture!

My dealer did the same, came up with an excuse that the vehicle's DVD was 'on it's way' and had installed it using a borrowed DVD from another vehicle. Promised to forward it on, never showed up so I paid the salesman a visit. Very sheepishly went and got me one but my guess is that they keep the DVD's so they can flog them to unsuspecting owners!
