Which Tyre Pump?

Post by Joloke »

I know its a good idea to reguarly check your tyre pressures and pump them up if they have lost air :(
Lots of people use Garage Forcourt pumps but this isnt always possible so with this in mind i want to buy a portable pump ;)

Question is Which One?

I did think of one of those nice plug in the 12v Socket auto ones Michelin appear to be the most respected brand that have good reviews
However i keep reading here and there that some users have found that they can blow the fuses in their Fuse Boxes when they plug them in

So ive also considered a twin Barrel Michelin Foot Operated Pump

Can anybody advise? I would like a Voltage rarther than a Foot Powered Pump but dont want to have to replace fuses in the Roccos Fusebox evertime i use it :(

All recomendation from personal experience would be very welcome in aiding my choice of Pump  :D

Jodie :)

is it ok? had any problems blowing fuses?
Its just something i keep reading in customer reviews of powered pumps apparently they appear to have a reputation for blowing fuse box fuses :(
Think ive seen that Ring one available on the high street ;)

I have a Michelin 12v one which I got from Halfords cost about £40 with a built in lamp and I must say it is excellent.

I had a Michelin foot pump. Only had it a year and probably used it half a dozen times when the internal seals failed and it became useless. Wouldn't have a Michelin one again. Just a bog standard Halfords one in the boot at present.

I strongly recommend that everyone should keep a pump in the boot. Makes it easy to check / boost your tyre pressures at home and you never know when you might need one when you're out and about. Sometimes when you come back to your car to find a flat tyre it can be some much easier to pump it back up to get you home rather than emptying the boot to change a wheel in the wet, on a fast road.

Lazy lot, I use a bicycle track pump, totally accurate pressure reading no batteries, easy to use.
