Happy New Year :)

I'm stuck at home with a stinking cold so I'm sad enough to be here and post this early in 2011!

I hope everyone has a great year.

Happy New Year everyone :)

Did everyone like the fireworks display in london? I thought it was rather good!

It was prepared by one of our very own members on here mind who happens to own a R too. Spent 5 days preparing for last nights 8 minutes of extravagance.

Job well done.

Jane, I don't know what you do right there, but I take it your involved with the setup? So if it's 5 days, how do you get people to leave the fireworks alone? Does everything you put them on close down? Always wondered that and I'm not the only one here who wants to know.

It looked amazing btw.

The three barges are rigged at the docks and towed up river on the 30th, with security.

The Eye has to be worked on at night when closed, cradles attached in the run up, then we only have a 6 hour window to get the pyro up on New Years Eve, when the last flight closes, we managed to do it in four so good going.

Yeah I agree with all the comments here - one of the best fireworks displays London has put on I think.

I think the music helped as it gave the Fireworks a bit more purpose, especially with the "woo hoo" bit and the clapping before We Will Rock you.

Hope you do the 2012 Olympics :)

think they used 8 tonnes worth!!

for comparison Sydney used 6 tonnes....

and Edinburgh used 4.5 tonnes i think (done by same company Jane works for but smaller budget than London)

Be amazing if they got the 2012 job!!!

Wonder if they could custom do a firework to spray "Scirocco Central" into the night sky :D :D

Thanks for the comments guys :) Nice after all the hard work and the stress of the night.

Yes 8 Tonnes...and Sydney who ??

Could do a custom one, but not in the sky ! those have to be simple designs, hearts, circles, smiley faces.
