VW marketing campaigns

I ordered a Scirocco about a week ago :) and like a kid at Christmas, I am currently lapping up any bit of info to make the wait a bit more bareable! Looking through a few recent car magazines, I noticed that in the last couple of months, (here in the UK at least) VW have been advertising the Scirocco quite a bit which seems a bit unusual for such niche model. From what I also understand, during the same period VW have been pushing some very keenly priced Scirocco lease deals for business customers (both directly and via third party companies.) On reading this forum, there always seem to have been big problems with delivery times & delays - I have been quoted 16 weeks and am not exactly holding my breath for a delivery that quickly! Now I was aware of the potential problems before ordering, but not every customer will have looked at internet forums before ordering. Is it just me, or would VW have been better to get their house in order first in terms of delivery times, before they start advertising & promotion campaigns to encourage extra orders!?! They may get some more sales now, but when these same customers come to change their cars in a few years time, any delivery problems will surely be putting these people off the brand for future purchaces? Just my two cents / tuppence worth on this issue...... still cannot wait for mine to arrive though!
