Our Viper Has Arrived but we cant have it yet Sob(Pic Heavy)
Yesterday we visited our Dealer to pre order some mats so they could be in the car on delivery day
He mentioned to us that the car had been delivered to them already and asked if we would like to see it?
Oh yess
He arranged to have it taken out of their storage for us and left us alone with our babee today
At Present its not registered and has bits of polystyrene and tape here and there but i thought id post some piccys up of him as were soo proud of him
The hardest thing was walking away from him knowing we cannot take him home yet
The reason he has been built and delivered to the dealers soo ahead of time is when we ordered the builds were nearly 5 months behind hence ordering it 5 months early, but then he factory caught up with itself and it was built two months ahead of time
So hes there tucked away in secure undercover storage ready and waiting for us but we cannot have him for 6 and a half weeks
Hope you like the Piccys?

Lots of Stickers and Protective Polystyrene
And they let us take the handbooks to study so we now have our bedtime reading sorted for the next 6 weeks

Have you talked to the lease company? I once changed a contract hire car 6 months ahead of when it should have been.
If they sell your old car now it will be classed as a year younger than if trying to sell it in December.

Goodbye To a Dear Old Friend My Old Golf :(
Well tommorow we pick up our New Scirocco
But its with Great Sadness we have to part with our Golf
Hes Been a Cracking Car if somewhat thisty as a 1.6 FSI Petrol Engine and non DSG Automatic Gearbox are not exactly a match made in heaven
But apart from that what a strong dependable car he's been
All my cars are Boys
We called the Golf "Heinrich" or Heiny for short
Its the End of an Era and we will miss him but his Spirit will live on in "Rory" the Rocco
Weve Covered 27,000 memorable Miles in him and he never missed a beat
His paintwork still looks as good as the Day we Collected him from the dealers thanks to great paint and a little help from Auto Glym but for the odd tiny stonechip here and there
The Only Critisisms we have are the Slow heater,The Non DSG Gearbox that had a mind of its own when it came to a hill the poor Mpg
The only thing he ever had done under waranty was a replacement Central Locking Controller which failed at 12 months
Hes Been a workhorse i'll Miss those Blue Dials but im looking forward top the Ice White ones in the Rocco
Heres some pics of Heiny We will never forget him but if it wasnt for him we wouldnt of been getting our Rocco now
Hope he gets a good home after hes returned
Take Care Heiny

Re: Our Viper Has Arrived but we cant have it yet Sob(Pic He
We have been out most of the day since picking up our New Rocco
we both Love it
Though Sam has been driving it more than me
Im still a bit wary as i need to get used to it,Sam always seems to adapt to new cars far quicker than i do
Also our weather has been appauling heavy rain ans theres lots of greasy muddy spray on the roads
The worst thing is we picked the Scirocco up this morning loverly and clean and just a few hours later it looked like it had been through the WRC
We will post some better Pics after we have Washed him
But for now here he is First Thing at the Dealers nice and clean next to our Golf we had returned

Re: Our Viper Has Arrived but we cant have it yet Sob(Pic He
Well we have now had our Rocco three and a bit weeks and have covered 1200 happy miles
I always adapt to a new car slower than my partner so what with all the miserable weather weve been having lately i havnt had much "getting Used to" or "practise time" with the car
This morning ive driven the Roc on my own for the very first time
Ive been a little nervous but seemed to loosen up a little out on my own
Im still finding that although hot very different in size to my previous mk5 Golf im still a little vary turning into tight corners at junctions, reverse parking etc because it feels soo much bigger
and im finding the brakes a bit "snatchy"??
Though im Sure ill get used to it
I also filled up on my own today too After always having petrol cars i was scared stiff id forget and i have to admit i paused and started asking myself if i was picking up the right pump
But i did and all was fine
I cannot help but smile though because im driving a sporty and powerful car that has an automatic gearbox that normally would cripple mpg and im getting over 50mpg avg from it
The car needs a wash again but that will have to come later, there again its going in to have a noise investigated a week on monday and our dealers always valet the car for free so maybe ill just leave it

Re: Our Viper Has Arrived but we cant have it yet Sob(Pic He
Well after 3 months Ownership and just Over 3k on the Clock last week i finally washed and waxed the Roc for the first time
Before you all think im really lazy ( your probably right though ) the reason being the first month after we got him the weather was appauling and it didnt stop snowing for a month
As the weather got better i was up north visiting my Mum so got it hand washed at one of those "All American Hand Wash" places (they dont have them around here )
when it got dirty again it had to have a little fault rectified at the dealers so they valeted it for free
Then i was in hospital so didnt drive it for a month
So last week it was treated to a wash using the "Two Bucket Method" and washmit (never used a washmit before) now ill never use a Sponge again
It was then treated to a coat of Meguirs wax
Unfortunately last week my Camera Battery died and i couldnt find the battery charger
Being such a nice day i thought id have a nice cruise and take some piccys today instead
Apart from Pre Delivery shots and just one shot outside the dealers on delivery day we havnt had the chance to take any decent pics of him until now
Its just as Clean and shiny as it was when i did it last week though
Heres the Evidence
