Nope Glasgow mate. I would recommend them, you are going to get the same delievery time issues, but the Dealer I had was very good at keeping me up to date, and when I told him to look at the options, he got me a car that was already in the country, same spec as the one I had ordered. He then went about moving about 4 different cars around different dealers to secure mine.
No complaints from me, and I'd recommend Arnold Clark on this occasion. Seems like the pull of the bigger dealerships can come in handy in these types of situations.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Well I've had enough and canceled my car today, dealer was very understanding but I place the blame with VW for the lack of information coming through to their potential customers. Being kept waiting with no information and no explanation is no way to run a business, such a shame because it is a great car. I hope someone in VW corporate reads these forums perhaps it will make them wake up and understand whats going on!
Good luck everyone, hopefully cars will start to be delivered in a more reasonable timescale soon.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Sadly with a 6 month waiting list, i don't think VW will care.... it just means someone else may get their car sooner.
I'll be ordering a Scirocco soon, despite knowing the waiting list, it's the car i want so will have to wait!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ordered in August (dealer put the order through a month later in September) and finally now have a delivery date of early Feb so will be waiting to March for the new plate to get it delivered.
It has been agonising so far and the pain will continue for a few more months now....
The pain will hopefully be worth the wait as the Scirocco is a great set of wheels.
At least I would be getting it wrecked by snow I suppose!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Quick heads up, lease company just called saying due to delays a courtesy car will be provided by VW 2nd/3rd week of January...brilliant timing as the current car heads back early Feb. I'll need to pay a refundable deposit of £150 but if I pay on CC they won't even bill it as long as they have the CC details...it'll even be insured...
This could be a result, means I'm not without a car, when delivered it'll more than likely be on the new reg, I'll get it after the bad weather, at 2010 promo rates and I'll be able to rack up the mileage on the courtesy car whilst banking my current payments...
Ive been warned it wont be like for like but hopefully it won't be a VW Fox!

Gronk - Europcar who provided out courtesy car considered a Passat to be equivalent. What you've been offered is identical in terms of deposit and no mileage restrictions so maybe you can expect this?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ah well, given up on the Scirocco and cancelled it, really nice car but 13weeks down the line I still have no build date so with a 5 week period from build to delivery, even if I got my car thats still 18weeks, way too long, naughty VW!!
So, ordered an SLK200, yeah its not as practical, but its already in stock :-D
Hope everyone enjoys their Roc's when they finally get them

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Nickyj - the reason I believe I got a courtesy car 6 weeks before vw were contractually obliged to was because we pestered and complianed. We ordered 19th august and were told to expect nov delivery. We didn't have a car and as it bacame apparent that nov was not going to happen We argued that had the dealer been up front we might have bought a second hand interim car but we didn't because we took their word. Then when it got pushed to dec. (still no build date btw) we said it was preventing us plan our Christmas as we intended to drive to France. Then out of the blue just got a call from europcar.
A few people have commented that the likelihood of getting a courtesy car out of them is proportionate to how hard you persist with nagging them.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Ok, no leg pulling please .. whats the difference between a confirmed build week and a non confirmed build week , when used in context ".. it shows a build week of x but that is yet to be confirmed" the implication is that someone (the dealer?) has requested a build week of x but someone (VW?) has to confirm it.
Is a non confirmed build week any different to an estimated one or are they both just supposition or has it moved beyond estimation and should I be confident that in general this will be confirmed as the correct build week ?

Why not ?
Only 28 & 33 pages back
This'll explain the process of how your Scirocco week number will behave as your order is progresses....

or
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... irm#p37477" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Read confirmed as the last 4 weeks in these posts. Non-confirmed is an order in the VW system with provisional date, not your deposit with the dealer waiting to lodge your order with VW. They willl differ as explained.
