Gear Change Indicator

Post by sazzle01 »

Hi All,

I have had my rocco for about 1 month now and there is a few questions.....

When i test drove the rocco its was a GT 170, i noticed on the dash it had the little light indicating when to change gear, i cannot seem to find that on my one. I have the GT 140 so wasn't sure if that was why but it states in the handbook i should have it but perhaps its just me and the settings in the MFD??

Also..

Does anyone know if there is anyway of adding heated seats after delivery? wasn't sure if the elements were in the seats and was just the wiring and switches needed? I have the cloth manual seats.

Also...

I was going to add the Bluetooth but due to having a Iphone decided not to and was just going to add a Bury after but after reading some posts people have spoke about the Skoda box which works, do you know if i can just buy the skoda park and wiring, plug it in and go? I have the telephone on the steering wheel and the phone on my RCd510?

i think thats all for now, thanks in advance :)

Hi sazzle

1) you are not the first to take delivery recently & not have it but you really aren't missing much
2) uh definitely not easily or cheaply...
3) if you did not order Bluetooth you need to fit the whole system (bluetooth module, box, microphone etc), you can only install the skoda box (or revised vw Bluetooth box) as a replacement to the old vw box that would be under the seat if you had specced it. The phone button on the radio acts as mute if you don't have Bluetooth & the steering wheel button just wouldnt do anything without it installed I would think.

Thanks for your reply Trix.

So with the gear change does that mean that its not on my vehicle, or is it something that would need to be programed at a dealer? i guess your right, id prob forget it was there anyway ;-)

Thanks yeah i have seen some kits on ebay for about £280 think ill just go without and stick with the Bury, Thanks

Ref: Bluetooth... Search on this forum for FISCON, it's a very good system to retro-fit!!

Its funny you should mention the Gear Change indicator.... My rocco 1.4TSI 160 went in for its 1st service at the end of Sept and all of a sudden i had the gear change indicator on the dash! It was something i had not had before (had the car since new). I guess it depends on the Firmwear level or some coding somewhere? - must have been something simple for it to appear after a service that took VW half a day?

the 1.4TSi's have had to have a software update (24S4 campaign) Runway which the gear change indicator was incorporated into as one indicator of which cars have had it, thats when mine gained it.
not sure if it can be coded in specifically

Its in the ECU internal coding, not a diagnostics change.
