Having a tracker fitted
Hello.
I just want to ask whether anyone has a tracker fitted or going to have one?
Cheers

Re: Having a tracker fitted
I do not see how a tracker helps get the car back if it is stolen with the keys, assuming such a theft would happen overnight it could be 6 - 8 hrs before I'd notice it's gone. If I'm lucky the car could be parked up and recoverable, if I'm not so lucky then it could have been crashed, containerised or parked under cover.
An ADR system would be a different matter, at least the system would alert even if the car was stolen with the keys but the ADR fob.

TBH not sure I would even want it back after it had been stolen.b0rk wrote:I do not see how a tracker helps get the car back if it is stolen with the keys, assuming such a theft would happen overnight it could be 6 - 8 hrs before I'd notice it's gone. Re: Having a tracker fitted
I don't have an R, just a GT, albeit a rather nice one imo. I'm having one put on next week as they sold it me with one, but it didn't have one. So I get a Golf 2.0 petrol as a courtesy for the overnight they'll have the car (can't get time off work, so they're having it overnight). I didn't actually get an insurance quote without putting the tracker in there. Prob would of only made £20 difference if that! lol. Nice that the garage is also (well, they said they are) giving me £20 for having to drive down there for what is their error. It's definitely a nice gesture for service and it's things like that, that make people come back. They owned up and are getting it resolved. Just hope it does get done.
