Hi all - I collected my Scirocco earlier this week and I have a query about which lights should be on for DRL, Sidelight, dipped etc
At present the lightswitch is on auto - and the small sidelights set into the bumper, and dipped headlights (the outer bulbs) are on permanently - is this right? The reason I ask is becuase I am replacing the dipped beam with Razo bulbs which are naturally much brighter than the standard haolgens - but does this mean that the Razos dipped beam will be on all the time?
Aso can someone clarify what the inner bulbs are for - i assume it is main beam and flash?
Thanks in advance.

The dipped beam is used as DRLs with the Halogen light units and also the tail lights will be on. Your Auto set up is correct. The both lamps in each headlight unit are single filament and use the same type of bulb. On main beam, the inner ones switch on, the outer remain on as dipped.

When drl's are activated and the switch is in 'auto' position the sidelights, dipped beam and of course tail lights will be on constantly.
The next setting to the right will turn the dipped beam off but leave side lights and tail lights on.
The final position will make the side, dipped and tail all be on aswel...but will also allow you to pull the switch out to activate fog lights providing you have them.
Changing to razo bulbs will make no change to this.
If you de activate the DRL's then you can turn the lights off completely. And the 'auto' function will obviously turn the lights on and off dependent on light.
I manages to deactivate my DRL'S By performing the proceedure in the handbook. This might not work for some models depending on build date.
