That's the best I've ever got out of the 2.0TSI..... by quite some way!
A little 90 mile trip from Oxford to Bristol yesterday afternoon. I was in no hurry at all and the traffic was quite dense so I tootled along with the lorries listening to the ipod instead of the usual habitat of the outside lane grand prix.
At the start of the journey the range predictionometer said I had 280 miles left in the tank. By the time I arrived it was up to 385!
Amazing what a bit of economical driving does for you..... but it wasn't as much fun
You can trim a couple of mpg off the MFD. The highest I've had over a full tank was 41.1mpg (calculated). Admittedly, I was driving like a tree hugger.
Very good going, we drove back from Leamington Spa the other day, think my average was about 37.5mpg, I was hovering around 80mph down M40/A34 before having to slow a bit on M3/M27.
I have seen up to 45/46mpg but normally when stuck in slow convoys in 6th gear at 45mph - not fun!
That's pretty good for the 2.0 TSI! So far I've had about 42 MPG during a couple of stints, on the winter wheels which are 205/55-16 rather than the Interlagos summer ones with the standard 235/40-18, still think it's pretty good with just 5000 km's on the clock. Best average for a full tank is about 37 MPG.
Candy White 1.4 TSI 160 - DSG, ACC, 18" Interlagos (Euro Premium&Sport packs), Alu Door Sills, Current VCDS Mods Needle Sweep, Cornering Fog Lights, Alarm Chirp, Emergency Break Warning, Dension Gateway 5, sort of..
After filling my car up last night. It is so depressing being stuck in traffic and watch the range slowly drop. When I left for work this morning the MFD said 365 miles. When I had parked up (20 miles) it was at 320. But to be fair moving just over a mile in 40 minutes can justify this. The joys of an urban commute.
I managed to average 35 MPG on the way home and when I parked up the range was at 315. So driving conservatively does help. . Wish I can do it more often.
AVG. 33.5 right now. Reckon it would go 32.5 if I was getting more "grrrry", but I found this Roc has made me chill out a bit. Such a great place to sit and drive in. Really does change the out look of a drive. Was in traffic on the M6 recently. Put Alan Partridge on and just watched that. Awesome stuff.
My drive up the A12, M11, M25 during rush hour in my 1.4 160 provided me with a rather tasty 48mpg. I am pretty surprised that I am getting such high mpg's considering I used to have a 2ltr Fsi Audi A4 that supposedly gave me 'diesel' performance. The only performance it gave me was a dull uninteresting drive that gave me average 40mpg efficiency. God I hated that car!
I managed to get 36 from my R on an 100 mile journey from Cheltenham to Harrow, average of 61 mph too! (the 50mph camera zones did bump them up a bit)!
Does make me laugh that this discussion is about people with a 200/210PS 2.0TSI that drive it like it's a 1.2 Polo to try and get diesel-like economy.
Worst diesel economy? In the snowy and ungritted roads of Tyneside I managed to get ave 9mph and 31.9 mpg for my 12 mile commute this morning, and an ACC fault occurred.

i agree if i wanted good mpg i would of bought a 1.1 with cheap tax aswell.

Not to TRY and get that. It was just an interesting consequence of the leisurely drive I had. I was surprised it got that high when I don't normally see above 33.
i got sub 200miles out of a tank of V-Power yesterday, loved every minute of it, was doing around 15mpg average, that said i did have the delight of an engine that sounds great when you rev it and does rev based 5,000 rpm
the 25 miles projected range lasted into a good 70 miles at motorway on the way home so i must have been trying

True, but you do have to put up with tractor sounds of a morning, hateful torque surges when accelerating, higher servicing and fuel costs and a lardy engine over the front wheels in a sports car...
I've got 11mpg from mine, two tanks of V-power in a day. I think a tank gave me about 140miles at that rate. Was extremely fun, reckon I could get 10mpg next time.
