Placed the order 1. sept. The dealer sent the order to VW a few days later (due to my lack of determination regarding which color to choose...).
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I think your very lucky, my order was placed on the 31st July and I still have no build date, seriously considering a 3 series coupe as an alternative!kenti wrote:Placed the order 1. sept. Yes, that was a seriously lang wait... Would actually understand if you cancelled, cause that's not good. Just a shame that the bmw doesn't look as good as the rocco though?
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Just seen the stealer today who suggested that delivery might not occur until March 2011!!! But that was still only his guess!!!kenti wrote:Omg! Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
What crap. I went to cancel my Roc last week but was purswaded to keep it after they told me i could have it on the new reg in march at no extra cost and some compensation, also a higher car from th 27th Nov untill my car arrives in march. Now they are telling me that i can`t have a hire car untill 10th dec because of a factory shut down and it doesn't count towards my waiting time Am i Dull to continue with this shite???? 22nd of july i ordedrd this car 6th aug they placed the order.
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
My story so far...
Ordered a candy white, 2.0 TDI (170) DSG with parking sensors and leather seats on 25th August 2010...was told to expect delivery end of October/beginning of November.
Was told at the end of October that the order has been accepted but hasn't been given a build week yet.
Went back Friday (19th Nov) and spoke with the dealer who said again there is no build week and delivery is looking to be next year! So was on the verge of cancelling when...
My attention was drawn to a new Roc in the showroom with slightly different spec - Candy white, 2.0 TDI (170) Manual box, standard cloth interior with parking sensors, pano roof and DAB radio. Brand new from the factory and the dealer said it's just a showroom model but i could have it by next weekend if i wanted!
Not only is it there and ready but is roughly £3000 cheaper than the one i have on order....hmmmmmmmm
Been thinking about it all weekend and think i'll be going back to the stealers tomorrow and leaving there in the know i'll be having my new car next week
(if it's still there)

The latest info I have is that Orders that were placed shortly before the final decision to change TDI 140's to BMT are stuck because of a system issue where by the dealers are unable to 'reorder' the car with the new engine because of a system error , new orders post the decision are fine, it is those that require reordering that are causing the problems , any one elkse heard this story?

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
I've heard something like that. My mate at Vw were I have ordered mine from has said a similar thing although I ordered a 170 because of when I placed the order it says accepted but no build week. I ordered about mid/end sept. Good news is I get a hire car soon because mine will prob come next year.
O the hire cars come from Europa car I think it is and factory delays should not alter when your eligable for it. Only delays my mate knows about is they been out of park sensors and steering wheel buttons o and as we know this new system.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Looks like I'm getting my car in just over 14 days now.
My dealer has done me a bit of wheeling and dealing, and I'll be getting my car from somewhere down south.
Result.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
ordered 8th august, phoned dealer today he says still no build date, and said i definitely won't get it until next year !!! was told when i ordered it would be 5months max, anything i can do to get them to give me a hire car as i have been without a car for too long!
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Phone VW customer services! I did yesterday and they told me that they would provide support after 16-20 weeks in the form of depreciation allowance or a support car.ReeceGTTdi wrote:ordered 8th august, phoned dealer today he says still no build date, and said i definitely won't get it until next year !!! was told when i ordered it would be 5months max, anything i can do to get them to give me a hire car as i have been without a car for too long!
They told me this was well publicised in the dealer community and additional awareness sessions were being planned...This applies regardless of your purchase method (cash/PCP/HP/lease etc)... The only caveat is that the dealer has followed the order process correctly. Because your contract is not VW but with the dealer, VW will only start counting from the date the dealer placed the order with them. VW agree to supply a car to the dealer within 16-20 weeks, the clock starts ticking when the dealer placed the order with VW
I chased my dealer yesterday and they confirmed they would sort it out nearer the time my current lease car is due back...
Oh the joys of the franchised car dealer system...gives no end of opportunity for buck passing!

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Anyone know what a 'prioritised order' really means , my Stuck order has been reordered from scratch and gone through as a one , what does that mean if anything?

Are you still expecting the Sumatra colour? i believe this has been replaced with the Dark Oak colour.
You will get the Blue motion tech as standard also.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
No, colour has changed to second choice of viper green, I am really intrigued as to what difference the priority element of the order will be. I have been assured that I haven't moved to the back of the queue because a new order has been raised so if that is the case why not raise every order as a priority order and how does it give priority, do they give it the next available build slot, if that is the case it could still be months awayJeffao wrote:Are you still expecting the Sumatra colour? i believe this has been replaced with the Dark Oak colour.

it most likely is that it is considered separately of the dealer allocation therefore passed to the factory & scheduled a build week asap so does not have to wait for a dealer allocation slot which could potentially delay it initially getting to the factory.
raising every order as a priority order would not work, everyone would still be waiting just as long because there would be no other orders to take priority over.

(btw if you have changed to viper green then can I suggest you change your profile >>> )

Well went to the dealer last week and was told that the expected delivery date is now end of March! Was originally told end of October! Therefore cancelled my order and will be looking elsewhere for my next car. Bit gutted I'm not getting it but as they say 'Plenty more fish in the sea'

Where about in Scotland are you sourcing your car from? 'The Don' - Aberdeen? I only ask to see if its the same dealer I'm getting from, who has been terrible! The Don wrote:Looks like I'm getting my car in just over 14 days now.
