Adaptive Chassis Control

Post by garbus »

Hi all, picked up my Scirocco Gt Tdi last month after much deliberation. I love the car.
Last week I noticed the setting switch near the gear stick was flashing. I only did a trip of 3 miles so was not too worried. The owner's manual advises to take the car in for a check. On my return trip the flashing stopeed when I started up. Spoke to the VW dealer the nest day who said it was due to weather conditions (was a particularly wet day). As the flashing had stopped they said there was no cause for concern. Week went by and nothing, Then this morning it happened again. Today was cold , not freezing and dry.
Anyone else had issues with this ? just feel the dealer was fobbing me off a bit and worried in case it gets worse.

Thanks for any advice

Hello,

It doesn't flash like that. You have a fault. Check the rear shocks for oil leakage. Has been known before. Try another dealer.

Garbus

definitely take the car in for a check, weather has nothing to do with ACC (I think they are confusing it with ESP). speak to the aftersales/service team of your dealer & mention 'ACC error code', don't let them fob you off.
mine did this at 3 weeks old & ended up needing a new rear shock, others have had it & haven't needed anything replacing but far better to get it checked, it should only be a 30-45min diagnostic
if we can help any further just shout

Thanks for your responses. I called Windrush again today and was told to see if it happens again this evening when I finish work. They seem to think it is a fault on the actual light and that this always flashes on start up (can't say I have ever noticed that) and for some reason is not turning itself off.
Regardless, will book the car in as it does not seem right to me and going by past VW electrical issues I'd rather they check it.

Thanks again , not the best introduction i wanted to make onto the forum !

we're here to help Garbus. they are spouting a load of twaddle about it flashing on start up everytime & that the fault is with the light :fall: if needs be show them the page in the manual denoting it as an error code if they keep coming up with that rubbish (will locate the page this evening)
& if they do carry on with this rubbish then i'd recommend considering elsewhere come service time..
