Post by scirocco »

Does anyone know much about or have experience of the new self sealing tyres that are now included on the Scirocco?

I have them on the R I have just bought (10 plate). They seem to be ok although I did aqua plane on the motorway today lol. To be fair the weather was awful.

Mine came with these Conti Self-seal tyres fitted, they seem to be good in the dry and held pressure since new (I check frequently due to high mileage). However, with the slightest hint of wet road they slip even under light acceleration, although that may have something to do with the remap and subsequent redonkulous torque!! :hyper:

New rims and tyres after winter for sure.

235/40R18's are selling on Internet tyre sites for between £190 and £210 per boot, RRP is apparently £250 each. So a £50 premium vs a standard Conti sport contact, IIRC there are full run flats available for less.
