I thought only prostitute-murdering truck drivers had CBs (or so Jeermy Clarkson says).

KrisPL: almost no-one has CB in the UK for their cars. My mate had a home set-up years ago and it was a laugh to be talking anonymously for anyone to tune in and listen to anyone else out there, some of the stories being told.

CB failed in England and Europe generally because of the short range of the sets after EU legislation. Only good for about 2 kilometres and struggled with that. New sets these days don't comply.

I have one in my Defender. It's really useful when you go offroading in groups. But apart from demonstrating it to amazed Italians in stationary traffic on the Milan motorway, there is where it ends.
