The latest update we have from the dealer regarding your vehicle is that there still has not been a build week issued however the order has been accepted. The dealer has recently begun issuing us with estimates, as to when they believe the vehicle will arrive. They have informed us that we are looking at April with your vehicle.
I apologize at the large delay you have experienced, unfortunately this is due to delays at the Volkswagen factories, and there is little we are able to do to speed up the process.
Please let me know if you have any other queries.

That's worrying - I ordered mine from Gateway2lease on 22nd July, same car spec by the looks of it (other than parking sensors and colour) and I had email yesterday saying car is at the dealers....

Hi Elay

I have a nasty suspicion that I am being messed about by someone and am very unhappy at present. I have e-mailed Gateway2lease but have a feeling that their response to my enquiry will be something like your car came thru' a different dealer. Just out of interest, would you be prepared to tell me what sort of financial package you arranged for the car? Also, do you know how long it will be before it is delivered to you?

This is all very worryng , I ordered mine through Lex Autolease on July 30th (company car) , originally told 15th Oct , then Nov 5th and now Nov 30th and that date is considered to be plucked out of thin air by the dealer as far as Lex are concerned as there is no Build date associated with it. I have asked for a firmer date , to be honest I am expecting post Dec.

Has anyone seen any official word on this supposed re-enginning with Blue motions outside of emails from Lease's and dealer's , It would make sense that VW target 140 TDI's as they are the most economical of the range? I would like to see something from VW or an auto website

I am gutted to be honest I was looking forward to early November and I have very few options as I can only deal with Lex so even if I could cancel the order with no penalties (probably could if it drags on) I would have to wait another 3 months for any other car order

Being in a similar position to many ( ordered aug 19th lease car, direct with vw finance - complete dead end talking to dealer, initially told nov delivery and now December 23rd latest) and having read stuff on here I called vw customer service today (as i have been weekly) and asked a number of questions. I asked about delays due to engine spec modifications and they said they were not aware of this and delay was simply due to over demand. They confirmed that they contractually aim to provide a std spec within 16 weeks of order. Apparently my dealer said mine went in 1 st sept due to factory shut down but suspect their quota may have been filled. Cust service said factory does shut down for two months a year? I didn't buy this - seems very odd that vw would accept losing two months production. They told me to keep on at my dealer but determined to keep on at both since vw need to get on top of their customer service.

Is it possible for me to do a bit of digging myself , can I ring VW customer services and find 'my order' even though it has been placed as a company car order via a lease agent through a dealer , I am not sure what info lex have given me , I suspect I have an order number generated by them and thats it and we are susposed to only deal with Lex.

I am intrigued looking through the previous recent posts at the varying delivery times some on time some late for the same spec in the same timeperiod

I don't know how concrete this 16 weeks is but mine runs out back end Nov which is were I am guessing dealer got 30th Nov from

The car on order for us is actually through my wife's company in her name. All I needed when speaking with vw Cust service was the vw order number. To be honest they arenot very helpful but can be useful to use to verify or discredit any dealer or lease company excuses. When I looked through the posts I took some peace of mind in the fact that quite a few people who ordered late July are now getting build dates/ expected delivery dates, so on this basis I figured hopefully not far off for august/ sept orders. There was also some talk, and Cust service told me this as well that something like you get a build date four weeks before it's built - different to how it used to be it seems? On this basis i think I read somewhere on here that dealers or lease companies giving dates out sooner were actually only giving their estimates based on previuos deals rather than anything confirmed by vw. Difficult to figure out what's going on and you'd think a company like vw could manage this process better - shame they produced a good car otherwise I'd have lost patience !

no problem, I arranged a 3+23 lease with them £341 pm inc VAT - to cut a long story short, I ended up getting the name of the dealer from them and ringing the dealer, he's promised to call me this morning to arrange for me to go to him and sign the finance agreement and provide copies of driving licence etc and actually collect the car from them rather than waiting for the gateway2lease to act as middle man sending documents back and forth.

i'll post an update later if it actually happens, as i'm now concerned after reading everyone's comments on here, that it may not happen!

I think that your dealer must be a different one as my deal is also different - 6+23 £286.00 pm inc VAT. I see what the problem could be, the deal was limited to a specific allocation at the dealer and Gateway2lease have sold me the deal and now cannot get that same deal from the dealer. The long lead-time is Gateway2lease trying to get me to cancel the order so they are then off the hook. If this is the case then I'm pretty sure that there is nothing that I can do.

Does anyone know if the financial package can be changed by the lease company after a long delay?

Hello,

Just joined here as i have the same problem as many others.

Ordered mine (vie lease co.) mid August, expected mid Novemeber. I have had no build date and the lease company (a mate of mine) is unable to give me any further information. He has however mentioned the engine change to bluemotion & also the fact that vw seem to be a nightmare at the moment generally, but by all accounts nobody quite knows whats going on?!!?

when i spoke to VW customer service i mentioned about the halt in production until week 45 due to the new blue motion engine, the women said he hadn't heard of it but she would go a check with the retail department. She came back and said production is not planned to be stopped and is continuing as normal.... sounds like a few of your leasing companies are playing silly buggers

Yeah, I've spoke to my VW dealer, I'm buying my car outright, and they have told me the car is still due to go to production in week 44. I ordered mine on the 19th of Sept.

So is that built in week 44 or started in week 44 , my lease people tell me there is a 4 week lead time after the build week (which is when I assumme the car is built? and covers for shipping hanging about at factory and destination I assumme) for the car to appear at the dealers .

Also as above , if I rang VW customer service what would the ask me for to identify the order ? I have an order number but what does a VW order number look like , mine is 7 numbers, alternatively could they find it by my name?

I beleive that is build week. Then obviously the car has to be completed, QD'd and tested then shipped. If it's built wk 44, then it will probably mid dec before I get the car.
