@raffoul232

I am starting to believe they do it on purpose. Scirocco sales are high even without LEDs and many other similar details. People buy this car because it has exceptional road holding, appearence etc. If someone likes it, he will buy it anyway. So it is a method to cut production costs down and increase profit. It's a shame, as they do not respect their buyers following this policy, as the car is not made by a budget VW group company like Skoda/Seat but from VW itself! And the car's price of course is VW!

These are the week 45 changes for the roc

Scirocco
All models
Optional multi-function display in colour. Price: Scirocco £230, Scirocco GT or R £180
Optional new RNS 315 satellite navigation system (now DAB and Bluetooth compatible). Price £570. See
picture 12 below.
Alteration of gearshift lever for DSG. See picture 8 below.
Dark Oak (P0P0), see picture 15 below, replaces Sumatra (7C7C).
So if the Dark Oak colour is to replace Sumatra as a week 45 change would that affect my order? I am waiting on a Sumatra which I ordered at the end of August. Do VW just stop using the old paint colour from wk 45 onwards? Also, are there any photos of the Dark Oak colour so that I know what I (may) be getting?

Cheers

I keep hearing about the start stop, is this referring to the button to start engine? If so is this not an option or standard on the Scirocco, if not then it will be hard to look my civic type r owning mate in the eye lol

The start / stop is a system where the engine shuts down when you put it in neutral and let the clutch out to save on emissions. When you put your foot on the clutch it starts again. Allows manufacturers to lower emissions (Co2) levels without really changing the engine. Designed so that you dont have to keep running when in traffic etc. The goverment have introduced tighter controls so that all maunfacturers have to have an average emissions value across their range of 154 or smoething by 2012 so this is a way of them easily bringing the figures down. Exactly the same system as is currently in the Audi A3 and it lowers the 2.0TDI 170PS from 139 to 125 i think yet engine still gives same power output. Sounds good for company car drivers tax but would't think it does much for the life of the starter motor!

Do you know if cars with DSG box will have stop/start to? As BMW & MINI do not have stop/start on autos.

It says from week 45 stop / start will apply to all engines so guess that means DSG aswell as manual. Hoping to get mine ordered before the end of the week.

Curious about all engines.. Vw certainly are not offering blue motion technologies on all scirocco engines in Germany, only TSI 122 manual, TDI 140 manual and DSG. I would assume that we will get the same engines.

thanx for your reply

it looks a lot browner than sumatra, i am not sure I like it, I'll wait though to see it in real life in dealerships as our colour (sumatra) also looks awful in the vw catalogue and is nothing like the real colour

if you make a change (colour spec etc) just so you can get the changes you will effectively be put right at the back of the queue. if you're happy to wait (& not winge at the extra wait) then go ahead but are they really worth it?!
the only way you will drop down the production schedule will be to make a change to your order though you can't just say 'i don't fancy having my car built right now, build it in a month instead' for example, & thats assuming your dealer lets you as your build week is now confirmed

Seeing the info about Start/Stop got me quite excited as i'm changing my Company Car in January and i'd had to dismiss the Scirocco as the emissions were too high compared to say an A3.

The figures listed for the 140ps Diesel have been confirmed to me as dropping to 118g/km, but he couldn't give me the figures on the 1.4 TSI's as they don't know them yet - he reckoned it'll be a month before they know, but he also said that they've been told they can't order any until Week 49 anyway (which suits me) but also that there is currently a delay on DSG equipped cars also. So i'm nervous that this could all fall apart, as i want a 1.4TSi (preferably 160bhp) DSG....

Can anyone confirm the following?

Sent by my leasing company,

"It would appear your car has been caught up in the 'week 45' changes and will benefit from the new 1.4 BlueMotion Tech engine (I was not made aware the 1.4 petrol was also to be "BlueMotion'ed") I have also been told that everything should sort itself out within the next two weeks and build dates be publicised etc.2

thanks

Yes, 1.4 has been confirmed as getting the BlueMotion spec (see my reply above)

The company we get ours from said it wouldn't be until Week 49 though.

I was given an EOS as a loan car whilst my scirocco was serviced. it was a blue motion model, but i did notice that there was an 'A@' button which could switch the Start/stop function on and off. I agree, didn't seem good for the engine to keep stopping and starting, especially when it is good practice to take strain of the clutch when stationary!

Does anyone know what the week 45 changes has brought then, apart from the TDI 140 now becoming blue motion?
Anything to get interested about, my car is due to get a build date any time and want to know if there is anything that will make my 4months wait worth it!!
