Some of the marketing material on ACC is a bit spurious.. Am I'm right in thinking that the change to throttle response is for the DSG box only?

I swear, when I put my manual in sport it feels more responsive on the accelerator, but I'm also 99% sure thats just in my head and is me feeling a bit demonic behind the wheel! :) The DSG had such a noticeable change to its response when I test drove one, almost redlining itself...

All in all, ACC isn't a must have feature for me, but I sure do appreciate it and have made the most of it in my few days of Roc ownership already!

When the rolling road was done on my car for the itg filter there was a notable difference in the 1.4 between comfort and sport in terms of the power level at the changeover between the supercharger and the turbocharger. Comfort had a noted dip at the changeover whereas sport had a much smoother curve. This must be something to do with a varied throttle or power map.

Sport mode does improve throttle response. Its on the VW website and in their literature. I've found its noticeable on track and when above about 4.5krpm. Similar with the stiffness and feel of the car in corners, Sport feels more solid. Also found the ESP will ever so slightly activate if your really giving it some and its slightly bump (on track this was) in Sport. But then again, ESP is sensitive anyway.

Heres one;

Second paragraph on the overview. Go on to technical and it mentions sport sharpens throttle response by changing the engine mapping.

Despite what the VW Uk website might say, there is no technical information from VW that shows it alters the ECU map. Also NEITHER of my Rocco's have had any influence on the throttle response using the ACC button.

If you have a look here, someone has taken the VW Technical manuals and put it on a web page with some explanation.

The information came out of this VW technical document (you have to buy them)
