I also stick to 'si-RO-koh'; I feel a bit pretentious giving it a pseudo-Italian inflection, although I remember Jeremy Clarkson pronouncing it with a distinct 'Shhhhi' on Top Gear. If we were being strictly German, then surely it would need to be a Schirocco?!

It depends i guess... in Greece the wind is called "σιροκκο" (sirokko) so that's how it's pronounced in Greece and Cyprus.
