My rising blue R has been traded in, if anyone wants a rising blue and doesn't mind a manual box, no phone prep and no cruise control then look no further!
On sale at Williams Lotus in Bristol for £26495 with a reg number of VW10 ROC (worth 800 alone)
Bear in mind you could probably knock 500 straight off that i don't think thats a bad deal!
Full leather
3 year servicing
Sat nav and dynaudio
reverse sensors
folding mirrors
19' wheels
Bottom line is i don't think the build quality is that great on the VW anymore and it just wasn't hardcore enough for me.
My new car ...08 Exige 240
Around 5700 miles.
I expected the VW to be pretty silent as the reason i got rid of my old Elise was to buy a boring sensible car (sorry if that upsets anyone but you know what i mean!), the reason i paid more for a VW instead of say the Focus, Renault was because of VW build quality/reputation but i started hearing a few creaks/rattles from all round the dash and tailgate area.
I thought this is just gonna get worse and to be honest i just found it boring to drive with no feedback through the steering.
So if i'm gonna put up with rattles i thought i may aswell be having fun while i'm listening to them ...hence the exige!
Don't get me wrong, the R is a great car and you can't compare it against a Lotus as it's designed for a totally different kind of customer, but if anyone here has driven the 2 cars they will know exactly where i'm coming from.
The Lotus is on a different level completely for the driving experience.
Maybe, but the Exige is making me smile much more than the R ever did, made me realise what i was missing ...what's with that no feedback electric steering, rubbish!
Mine lasted 5 months as well,

Lots of other bits, retailed at 33,200 which was quite a lot I thought.
Its a genuinely great car "of its type" and as a family car its very practical.......................But.
its not enough of a sports car for me. Spent about 12k more than it cost on an 09 Nissan GTR with a Golf Match bluemotion for the boring stuff.
The GTR is simply spectacular and thats comparing it to 996 and 997 GT3s let alone Sciroccco's of any hue.
Disappointing bit was paid 33200 and got offered 24,500 by the dealer after 8,000 miles. Even allowing for dealer margins thats pretty poor depreciation in 5 mths. I have to say I had no issues with quality at all.
interestingly the new Golf match I've got gives a lot of the same VW experience as the Roc, design, build quality etc as well as DAB radio and parking sensors front and rear all as standard but instead of driving it like I stole it I find myself playing with artics in the slow lane trying to get it to give me more than 65mpg!!!
Options: RNS510, DSG, leather, 19" Talladega's, Dynaudio, Bluetooth, front covered cup holder, rear cup holders, piano black cubby hole, Audi R8 oil cap
