Rock the Roc

Post by Opalsilver »

Hi All! I'm just burning some music as prep for my 90 mile journey home on Thursday after picking up my new Roc and testing out the Dynaudio! I've done some on to a CD, but was wondering, can you use a USB storage pen to keep your music on and play through the USB cable? I have an Ipod but just some tunes to have that I can leave in the car for the missus, if she ever gets a chance to use it that is!!!

yup thats what the USB cable is designed for! or you can store the music on a SD card and use the SD card slot in the RCD.

Have fun.

Hi All! My Roc arrived today and I am blown away by it! I tried saving a few tunes from itunes onto an SD card (about 20) on a 2GB card, but only two tracks are recognised. What should I be doing. I've dragged the tunes straight from I tunes on to the disc. Am I doing something wrong?

Fairly certain the standard units only plays MP3, unless you want to convert you might be better of just plugging the iPod into the MDI.

In iTunes, right-click the song (or songs, can be as many as you like in one go) you want to convert and choose "Create MP3 version", then you right-click the new track to find out where it was stored, and copy that to the SD card.

SD card will only play MP3, but via the USB stick you can play AAC (M4a) files it you just copy and paste the songs / folders from your iTunes music directory. Mine are 320K M4a and play OK. I now use a Samsung S1 Mini 120GB HDD drive rather than a USB memory stick, all depends how much music you want to store. Been driving the roc for nearly a year and still not listened to them all!

Use of the Dynaudio should only be permitted with CD quality music or mp3 at the very least 320kbps!!
