Tow Bar

Post by arkaig »

Hi all!

Anybody know whether VW are planning on bringing out a demountable towbar for the Scirocco, or is there any other supplier doing a towbar? Many thanks.

Many thanks for yours, all noted, but it still leaves open the question of current / future availability or timing as to CE type approval for any towbar.

The car's on order for fun on the road, but fun on the water needs a towbar!

:D :D

I think you would have to speak to your dealer to see what they know. those threads I quoted last night are as much info as we have here. I had a quick look online at some towbar suppliers & have to say I didn't find one for the Roc. I also seem to remember reading somewhere that the car chassi must be certified & have specific attachment points built into it (not sure if the roc has this).

I don't understand the new regulations so your best bet is to speak to someone who makes tow bars & find out the exact criteria that the car needs to meet

Anybody know if there is any update on this? Been searching around but can't find much

I wanna get a bike carrier but would rather have a towball mounted one so it doesn't do any damage to paintwork etc, and then ideally I can remove the towball leaving no evidence of either being there :)

Its a Scirocco Type Approval "no tow bar permitted" . So I doubt if it will change.
