Scirocco Brochure VW Website

Post by Edinburgh Scirocco »

Has anybody downloaded the brochure of the vw website. Very disappointing!!! I've got one on order but can't make up my mind about the colour. I ordered the salsa red but not really sure about how it will look. Does anybody have definative pics. Also apparently no bluetooth available although standard models come with the buttons on steering wheel. Does anybody know more????

Yeah I've been very disappointed by the brochures too. The download one just shows a couple of close-ups but nothing special. I got one through the post too and that was even worse. Basically just a big poster with a shot of a wheel, headlight and the exhaust and a price list with type so small you'll need a microscope :)

I'm surprised by the bluetooth as well. It occurred to me the other night to check if it was in there and I had a good look through the price list spec pages but couldn't see it. Very surprising omission if it is especially as it must only be a couple of quid to add it.

Welcome by the way :)

The Geneva car looked more metallic and 'deeper' but the salsa red looks a little flat. I guess we'll find out when they hit the showrooms, or possibly the UK press car magazine reviews.
The name's Jim, or at least that's what it says in my pants.

A guy a few doors down from me works for Autocar. I haven't seen a Scirocco on his drive yet though but when I do it should be in the magazine a week or two after. I might go and ask if I can have a little looky if/when he gets one.

I asked at the dealer about Bluetooth, and they told me it's not even available as an option. Strange on a new car. My Dad's base Mondeo came with it. The dealer showed me a leaflet for what looked similar to one of those sun visor jobbies, but stuck to the roof - it didn't connect to the speakers in the car.

I wonder if this will work with a Parrot kit on the Scirocco:

It does say RCD500, not 510 though.

I used to have a Parrot/Connects2 kit in my BMW 1-series, with the kit completely hidden. It was great. And Halfords supplied and fitted it for 200 notes.

I asked my dealer about it too, he said the steering is straight from a Golf GTI/R32, I thought it was crap to have a button that didn't do anything but felt a bit better when he said the exact same scenario is with an R32, the button exists but there isn't a Bluetooth option you can purchase.
