sorry to hear that but can't blame you. if mine didn't arrive by the 6 month mark i would have cancelled too.

really don't know whats happened to the VW supply chain at the mo. Demand for cars is there yet they can't satisfy them! very silly operationally considering the economic climate where every sale is a bonus. im sure VW UK are not amused either.

irony is there are plenty of Rocco and Golf R's hitting the VW used website and some good and tempting deals at the moment

With the last few posts it would seem UK cars are going to be around in week 40. Has anyone got any concerns about if they make any massive changes in week 45? Has anyone approached their dealer on this topic?

Vibester.. are week 45 updates/changes the norm for VW?? I didn't know anything about this so if you can give me some more info, I will chase this up - having waited a year I certainly don't want to get the car and see a better one 5 weeks later..... I'd rather wait the extra 5weeks

At last, I've got a build date - week 42. Does anyone know how long it is from build date to delivery date?

No doubt one of the Gurus on the forum will point me in the right direction, but, I was sure there were changes in week 45 last year. As I dont know the full history of VW model changes, I was assuming they may do the same again... which to be honest would be a kick in the nuts to say the least.

I am popping into the dealers tomorrow but if anyone can shed light on this beforehand about possible model changes it would be greatly appreciated...

yes there were week 45 changes last year which took us from MY2010 to MY2010.5 but it was, from what I understand, slightly unusual and doesn't ordinarily occur it was purely to bring the parts used in line with the the Golf Mk 6
generally there is just the week 22 ish changes to revise the manufacturing year

nothing has been heard on the grapevine yet but its possibly a bit early, the confirmed week 45 changes appeared in Oct last year

Well that's a little more comforting that its not considered a standard for a twice a year change. I think I would lose the plot if I got one and then it changed straight after! Grrrr..

Seems i did not need to worry. My March order does not have an estimate or a confirmed build week according to the dealer, it is just an 'assigned' status. No september 1st delivery for me... oh well. At least ill get ot for whn it starts to snow..... yay!?

Interesting it seems as if VW are still batch producing the cars based on most of the outstanding orders now apearing to be build week 40.

Can i just check to see if anyone knows what assigned means? Also, what an 'original date' is on a dealer screen?

VW have at least in the past 4 years used wk45 as a factory change point across the range, iirc as an example wk45 07 saw withdrawal of 1.6FSI and 2.0FSI engines introduction of 1.4TSI and 1.8TSI engines, RNS510 nav and mp3 CD audio support to all radios. wk45 08 saw withdrawal of Ipod prep and PD 2.0 diesels but CR 2.0 diesels and MDI appeared. wk45 09 change of clocks, steering wheel and instrumentation etc..

I'd assume that as a minimum wk45 10 will see withdrawal of rns310 and rsap premium bluetooth for replacement with rns315 and hsp/rsap premium bluetooth respectively.
keyless go, automatic distance control and park pilot are obvious long rumoured spec changes that must turn up at some point having all been mentioned in the original launch press pack as coming soon features.

no sorry Vibester I would assume these are the new terms that have been brought in with the new system  which I am not familiar with, perhaps if someone has a forthcoming dealer in terms of information they can ask & get a definitive answer on the tracking within the new system
