Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
As above, any signs of the new system being alive? Just being impatient was hoping VW switched on ahead of schedule.

Don't worry Bleedoff, your car will still be there! They don't delete the cars when they change systems!
BTW, also waiting on an update for mine
but in no big rush as I want it in September anyway!

I'm also expecting an update next week as soon as it comes back up.
Right before the system went offline, I was told that mine 'seems' to have gone into production in week 28!
That would be five weeks ahead of the original unconfirmed build week, so I'm not too confident about it happening

Yea I know my car is there but this upgrade its stopping getting transported from Sheerness to the dealer. So sooner its up and running the sooner the transport company across the UK will get back into work! My car has just been sitting in Sheerness for 10 days doing nothing

Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
I have to say I am really p***ed of with VW now. The system was rebooted today and looks like there are major problems with it. So still can not find out where my Roc is between Sheerness and London! They have had the system down for 2 weeks to upgrade it to the new one just for it not to work! Whats the point of taking 2 weeks to upgrade it if you can not set it up and test it within the time. The thing is no one wants to help out not the dealer really or VW customer services standard answer is that the system not working can not help! What happened to true customer service and finding ways around problems like ringing the transport company direct and maybe ask them!

Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
This is coming from a person who works with computers, implementing new systems into different environments. You can test as much as possible during a certain period - BUT there will always be little issues when you flick the switch. It's how you handle the situation that changes the outcome IMO.
It's not the dealers fault - after all they just get the information straight from VW themselves. Out of curiosity - even if they did ring the transport company, all they could do would be to tell you "Yes its in the UK in X" - Not much help as you already know its in the UK. Its unlikely they could get it moved to you any quicker - after all your one customer, they then have to get it all set up at the Dealer - the dealer can't sign the car in on the system because it is down, etc....See a pattern?
VW is a corporation and i'm afraid your just a number like me!
Patience is a virtue my dear Bleedsoff
People may disagree, but that's what I think.

Yep - system crashed in parts, but if your car is at your stealer they can register it... My white Rocco should be in my hands by tomorrow afternoon! (sorry that doesn't help you if you're waiting)

Hi Bleedsoff, I was told that I might have it by next Monday, that it was in transit and the dealer should get in time to turn around, tax and PDI it by then. Me and you were the same build week, so I have been sat looking at pictures too!!! Good luck mate, I know how you are feeling.

Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
That what people may think, but after being a grumpy customer this afternoon I may have a result. Got priority for car to be delivered. VW rung the transport company they have been told get it to the dealer ASAP so should be here in a few days. Obviously no one has promised anything. At the end of the day I don't believe we are a number in a system. you talk to the right people things can get donestuaz wrote:This is coming from a person who works with computers, implementing new systems into different environments. Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
Quite right too.... I asked my VW garage if I could get a courtesy car; as my old car had to go before delivery of my Roc and they came up with one for me.Very impressed that this was not a problem. Certainly took a bad taste away.

Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
I am getting my Roc on Friday morning 9am!
Take that VW and your computers! Bring on friday
Have to go thursday to sign finance agreement so hoping the car will be there to have a look at. When do the sales people start setting up long life or time/distance servicing? The only probelm is Searchin4aRoc has flooded the delivery room with Sumatra with truffle leather hardly any point getting a few pics of mine up

Re: Any signs of VW upgrade system up and running
My car is ready and fully prepped for collection - but the registration computer has crashed this morning so, though my reg has been allocated, the car can't be taxed and therefore can't be collected. They're hoping it might be fixed, but they're not sure. If not today I'm busy until Thursday now. Grrrr.

That would be a huge bummer if it didn't work on Friday for me. Will have to put on my angry eyes if that happens, lol!

I'm quite sure that won't be enough to hold you back!!bleedsoff wrote:The only probelm is Searchin4aRoc has flooded the delivery room with Sumatra with truffle leather hardly any point getting a few pics of mine up
Go for it!

Of course, after the long wait you've endured, you'll be on one constant drive throughout the weekend!
That could lead to some very scenic shots!!
