the wait better be worth it.

After the fiasco with long lead times re the Scirocco GT last year, I thought VW would have got their act together.

Aparrently a Golf estate is on a 7 month lead time :fall: - the 1.2 TSi would be perfect for the Mrs 8)

im luvvving it mate :D done 6.5k now including a long weekend trek to ze Ring and its been an absolute joy.

Worth every penny. I smile every time i look at it (when its clean anyway).

Re Protection...i would only get the AG life shine if it was FREE. Otherwise if its a must get a proper detailer to protect it instead.

I just clean and wax it with some quality gear (from autoperfection) every 2 weeks.

Apparently demand accross Europe has totally oustripped supply.

Also been told the factory closes in August which doesn't help matters, but don't know if this is true.

Thnking positively, if VW throws resources I am sure it can get fixed. Hence hoping BW's are brought forward in due course.

OK, Not a good day, been told by VW that my build week is now week 42 with delivery "expected" in around week 47.

The cannot give a firm build week until about 4 weeks before, or thats what VW UK are saying.

Place my order with dealer on the 26th May, am I being unreasonable of is this the normal time frames.

Have seen an almost exact spec car 2nd hand demo with 5000 miles on the clock available next week.....

do I stay or do I go.

do i really want 2nd hand

I ordered 21st March. No news on build date. I keep resisting to ask for comm no and estimated build date update to stop me being irritated if it changes. I will await to hear once it has been confirmed. Just hope its for the originally plannes Sept!!!!! So my point being, while it may not be reasonable, it sounds normal time frames.

The situation is not good - ordered in March but been advised probably won't get till November (almost an 8 month wait which is ridiculous if this is correct). Not pleased, especially as I had an opportunity of going for a C63 till last week on a v good deal.

VW are shut down only for 2 weeks in July and does not affect the building of Scirocco's, just transport in the UK to dealers. Have a look here for more info, http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... f=2&t=5745" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I am not sure it affects all dealers but I reckon it does.

There's something not right here. Found out that another customer has ordered a Candy white with DSG and parking sensors about a month after mine and their build week is before mine - explain that one.

if its a different dealer then their dealer may have an open allocation slot ahead of your dealers allocation used for your order.
dealers can't just put as many orders in willy nilly how they like they only have a certain allocation if their dealer had a spare allocation for the preceeding month & yours didn't then there you go sadly.

It's from the same dealer. I don't know whether it's because I am a staff member, but they shouldn't do that.

Hello guys

Popped in today to have a little look at how everyone is getting on! For you who are bemoaning a May order not being here until the autumn........... that is a measly 6mths ish. LOL

To remind you all that I ordered on Oct 30th (the day the ordering opened for what I now believe to be a VW lie - the '500' only rs) and I do not have a scheduled build.... count it.. go on... 9mths at the end of July and no sign of build :eyepop:

I still haven't seen an R in the flesh which I am glad about. I am now waiting very patiently and I do still trust my dealer! He is doing his best and in touch with me often.

I am pleased for Martin and others who have been here since 2009 who have finally got their beauties. Keep posting pics and reports. They make me smile!
