Adding options to a used roc

Post by cpjames »

Chaps,

I have had a bit of a rethink and browsing through Autotrader I might go for a "nearly" new roc but I am quite keen to add my options (Sat Nav/DVD and Parking Sensor)

One dealer I spoke to said that both of these could be done as a dealer mod even with the parking sensor that integrates with the satnav/radio ?

Is this right, I would want it to be done properly, from what he said you need to run another lead back to the arial for the sat nav's GPS receiver?

Any thoughts, advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Chris

cpjames, someone has swapped the head unit for a sat nav one on here so will come to you rescue

another owner has had dealer fit sensors and said they did not link to the head unit and give the graphics

The dealer I spoke to said it was possible to retro fit the parking sensor that integrates with the head unit but the parts have to be ordered from Germany, it costs around 700 to do.

£700 vs £290 (I think?) for the normal sensors, not worth it!

The RNS 510 can be bought for about £850-£900 off ebay and it comes supplied with a GPS antenna that sits under the dash. It takes about 20 minutes to swap them over.
The parking sensors can be retro fitted for around £195 but not linked to the head unit.

Hope this helps.

andy presume you meant me. ;)
