Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
My Roc had them as standard im pretty sure they are in the UK.
Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
they are standard guys however they are not uniform across all cars so the parts department will require your chassis number to be able to give you a matching one to your set
have you lost one/the key for them blue??

Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
They don't need your VIN, it's a bit more basic than that, they have about 3 boxes of keys in the parts department and it's a case of going through them to see which one fits hahatrix wrote:they are standard guys however they are not uniform across all cars so the parts department will require your chassis number to be able to give you a matching one to your set

Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
Chassis VIN and assigned locking wheel bolt key are documented for the car as delivered from the factory. That's why you take in your VIN number or they will look it up on the "system" for the chassis VIN in front of you. Then order the replacement part whose number is nothing like 1J0 071 591A. The key comes with a spare bolt, presumably based on the premise that the original locking bolt has been damaged or lost. So everything stays matched as a set of 4 locking wheel bolts.
Cost £25.81 + VAT early Nov'09.
The interlocking key pattern is different to 1J0 071 591A above. Bolt seating profile of 1J0 071 591A may be also different to the ones supplied on the Scirocco.
The VW replacement wheel bolt lock key comes with a protective plastic collar unlike the factory bare metal one in the boot. This prevents damage to the alloy wheel paint finish. The collar also aids for better location when first coupling up to the key to wheel bolt, as it fits snugly into the wheel bolt hole.

Can i just state again, i have not lost my locking nut or the key, i DO have locking wheels nuts but just wanted the code for a second set of lockers
Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
if you want an identical set then as said you need to go in & see the parts department with your VIN so they can ascertain what variant you have & will then order you more of the same.

Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
Guy's, be very careful with these they are quite soft I had a big problem trying to get one off the other week I ended up with a stripped bolt thankfully I got it off using a impact gun which cleaned up the rounded off edges, I went and bought four plain bolts to replace the anit theft ones not Ideal I know but at least they will come off if I get a flat tyre.
I'am going to take them back to VW to see what they say...

Hmm, not good, think I might pop them off and put some copper grease on them

Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
That's the first thing I did on dayt one last November. All bolts out and wheels off. Applied a thin smear of copper ease.182_blue wrote:Hmm, not good, think I might pop them off and put some copper grease on them
Once has a VW alloy stick to the hub.
Last thing you want is a bolt or wheel problem when you've got a puncture by the roadside.

Re: Scirocco anti theft wheel bolts ?
I had a problem with anti theft wheel nut sticking on wifes Corsa, nuts on the Scirocco seem to be a lot better but I applied v. thin smear of copper slip to threads and hub. Handbook says must leave threads dry, but like you a flat on a stuck wheel is not great. I think if you do apply grease you must check torque on wheel nuts regularly
