Re: Any chance of dealer discounts?
Ive not got a buld date yet, but the car has only been on the order system since October. I wanted the car for 1st March, so no great rush for me...
The dealer sent me a screen shot of the order on VWs system.
Can I ask the guys that have ordered thorugh Broadspeed, which dealer they have?

I feel the exact same way!gossa wrote:Bagwafu wrote:gossa wrote:I bought this car because it ticked most of the boxes for me, the only box it didn't tick was 'does it make me feel special', I didn't think it was as prestigious as my first choice car (Audi A5), but today i've completely changed my mind, I feel very special indeed.
I had the A5 on my list as well as the TT, and a BMW 330 coupe.
Non of them would have got the attention my car gets!

Bit of a lazy question gents (without me looking into it myself) but buying through broadspeed, how much deposit is required to secure your car? Is it the same as the dealers £500?

Think you pay Broadspeed their fees up front then you sort out with the dealer that they put you in touch with. If I am not correct I am sure one of the guys that have ordered will correct me.

Funny I only collected the car yesterday, this morning I went to Tescos to get a box of donuts for the guys in my shop, when I got out of the car a guy was already gawping at it and striking up a conversation. I felt pretty chuffed but when I came out 15 minutes later and he was still I thought I had a stalker!I feel the exact same way!

Then tonight when I went out for a takeaway I had to park outside a pub and people inside were coming out to look! I've never had a car that has so many admiring glances, however I didn't buy it for that at all but it's a nice perk!
The drive is just sensational and the quality feels extremely high. Little details that are options on the Audi like the red interior light that shines down on the gear lever are all standard here. For those of you that have them on order, you're in for a real treat but remember, black is best!

Spec the car on the broadspeed website, pay broadspeed £299. Broadspeed will then call the VW dealer who will then call you (I got a call within a couple of hours of paying the Broadspeed fee) They will fax or post an official order to you, get it faxed if you can as it speeds up the whole process. It is at this point they request a deposit from you. I was asked for a £1000 but questioned it and they reduced it to £500.sonnybhoy wrote:Bit of a lazy question gents (without me looking into it myself) but buying through broadspeed, how much deposit is required to secure your car? Re: Any chance of dealer discounts?
Cheers for the info Jon.
Well I'm just back from paying the deposit on my high specced car. Think I got a pretty damn good deal - obviously that 2.5% tax discount takes a good bit of pennies from the bottom line. Was told that the dealer margin was about 5%, (think I got just over that!). went on to buyacar.co.uk and they ended up about 700 pounds dearer - dont think they had applied the tax cut though. Even so it means I have used a main dealer, face to face contact and purely for me, piece of mind. The dealer was Breeze in Southampton and even though some have not had overwhelmingly favourable experiences, I must admit I think they were very professional and not that pushy at all. If any body has any queries about the deal that I got or if anyone wnats the salesmans name so that they can go in and get an even better deal
let me know.
Sheers folks!

OK, stop that sneering!sonnybhoy wrote:That almost looks like sneers folks - Cheers Folks!
Well done mate, sounds like you're happy with your deal. Just out of interest though why didn't you pick up an ex demo? i just got mine last week and it was a very good discount off of new (£4K off list) with only 800 miles with pretty much everything I wanted. I know there's nothing like picking up a virgin motor but good deals to be done on the 130 odd cars on the vdub website. I cleaned my car today, i like it a lot........

Re: Any chance of dealer discounts?
You're bang on with the demo gossa. We considered it and theres alot of positives with only one negative - not being able to spec it up yourself and ultimately having a virgin motor. The worst things going to be the wait and fingers crossed, provided that those waiting times dont sky rocket, I can just about take it - I think! Anyway, i'm turning 30 next year and its a bit of a treat. Should get the car just before my birthday.
Would be interesting to compare prices and spec on a similar demo option - might just do that and feedback on here.

Re: Any chance of dealer discounts?
I know what you mean about exact spec, my car is exactly what I would have ordered except for cruise and xenons. I can have cruise fitted for £150 but I reckon the xenons could be an expensive upgrade so I probably won't bother.sonnybhoy wrote:You're bang on with the demo gossa. Turning 30 eh? That's a sweet treat, hope the wait is bearable but at least it will give you time to buy all your little bits for it.

Wow, this is beginning to sound like a bidding war!
I used all the powers of persuasion I could muster to belt 10%+ off the price at my local dealers.
Dya imagine it'll have any wheels on it when it arrives
