MY2011 changes

Is this list final, or do you think that there may be some others incorporated last minute per the list from the Continent?

I believe this is the final list of changes that has been sent round the UK dealers. I was hopeful that the might add some of the European options onto the price list too, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen.

as per the responses on the first & second pages anything built in week 22 and after will include these changes

So my car that was ordered in mid-May (week 20) and the estimated delivery time is in September will have this changes?

if the car is built week in week 22 or after then it will have these MY2011 changes. it does not matter when you ordered the car it only matters when the car is built

I suppose then that my car will probably have this changes. Also my salesperson told me that my car will have some small 2011 interior changes, is this true?

yes probably as I can't see it being built this week if you only ordered last week.

as per the list on the first page yes there are some minor interior changes (eg additional ESP lamp, flat tyre indicator as standard) but I am not 100% of all the changes you will receive as the first page list is the UK 2011 changes and the continent ones may be different

Hmmm. Ive read all of this topic and still non the wiser, bearing in mind this is all new to me. I gave my dealer, Pulman, my order form for the fleet car. TDI 140 GT. White, on the 1st June. He said 10 - 12 weeks.

1: Please explain all these build weeks
2: He said my interior roof lining would be black instead of grey ??
3: I suppose I can expect all these "My2011' changes???

1) each week of the year is assigned a number, vw use this number to define their build weeks. ie 1st jan is a monday, that week is calendar week 1 therefore build week 1.
2) generally iirc the roof lining is dependant on if leather is ordered & fuel type. 2.0Tsi GT's & cars with leather (& possibly Diesel GT's) get a black headlining, Diesels without leather & 1.4's without leather get grey (the only point i'm not sure on is it the leather colour makes a difference)
3) yes you will if your car is built from next monday onwards, ie week 22 onwards (definitely if you have only just ordered)

Yes it all makes sense! I have not ordered leather and he emailed me to say it had black roof lining. Maybe thats a spec change, I don't know.

I have asked for the after market Bluetooth, the bury? Quoted 230 fitted. However is it worth I wonder having the Fiscon kit installed for 370?? Seems a shame not to as I like the integrated buttons on the SW. Point being VW should maybe have it standard or included in the MY2011. Other makes are now standardising this !!

Bury vs Fiscon has been discussed many times before Kel so I don't want to drag this topic off but my preference would be fiscon as there isn't an extra screen to make it visually appealing to steal. Fiscon will not be added as standard to VW as Kufatech are their own entity & VW most likely already have an agreement with someone for integrated systems (albeit in our opinion the wrong one)

IMHO The biggest shame is VWUK deciding not carry over the European MY11 factory bluetooth options... we shall however see what week 45 brings.

Hi,
New to all this and ive just been today and ordered a new scirocco but cant see a build date on the receipt ect all im thinking is that it wont be processed till monday,So will all the new additions be on my order.
I read on another site that you could see where you car was in the build.
I was also told that certain colours wasnt available ie: sumatra opal silver pewter grey.
Any information would be of help thanks.

Your build date won't be available until the dealer places the order you've made on the VW Factory Ordering System next week. Give them a call later in the week if they've not got in touch with you and they should be able to a provisional build complete week number and a commission number (Comm No. useful if you need to contact VW Customer Services).

Dealer in the first instance should keep you regularly informed of the order status. As for final build at the factory, it only takes about 10 days all told. Once in build, again your dealer can see all the details on the ordering screen.

The Build Complete Week will only go firm at about 3 to 4 weeks before your Scirocco completes build at the factory. Upto then, the build week can fluctuate as they sort out the delivery of components/options.

Request the dealer to keep you regularly informed of the order status. As for final build at the factory, it only takes about 10 days all told. Again, at that time the dealer should be talking to you.

Opal Silver, Pewter Grey and Shadow Blue colours discontinued.
Silver Leaf, Indium Grey and Night Blue colours added.

Not Sumatra!

Suggest you take the list from the top of this topic and check them off with the dealer next week when you speak with them so as you are certain.

Hello one and all.....New to all this but here goes.

Went in and ordered my Scirocco yesterday and on the receipt it says delivery expected mid october although they did say hopefully for the september when the new reg comes out.

Q: Whats all this build week is that the week in the year when they intend to start the build.
Q: Does that mean i will have all then standard add ons as listed in this forum.

I ordered candy white but with second thoughts and when i asked about the colours available they said pewter and a few others had been discontinued however didnt tell me of the new colours available.

Q: At what is the latest i can change the colour choice anyone know? plus do they keep you informed or do i have to pester them i saw on another site where you click a link and you can see the progress of your car build....is that bullsh*t.
