I can only assume that this is being produced in blocks and therefore they took to many orders for the initial production run. Having said that, there are a few stock vehicles which does seem a little wrong given there are unfulfilled November customers.
@martin... Its got to be worth asking for something off/free/compensation.....

Just had some even worse news, as you all know I orderd mid november last YEAR! I am now unconfirmed week 28 This is a joke, I have now been told I am looking at September delivery 10 months!!!!!!! Even the women at VW CS couldn't believe it and there seems their is nothing anyone can do about it

10 months for a VW lol,just because their owned by Porsche now doesn't mean they are,as you know Martin i too ordered mine in November and the last contact i had with them was unconfirmed wk 23 i can't phone them again there already number 1 on my friends and family!!!!

I was a November order and mine has now arrived at the dealers, I'm collecting on Friday. I thought that my wait was bad. The last week seems to have gone slower than the last 5 months. Ah well not long now.

Well I thought I was having/had a shocking time of it with VW in parts (which I probably have done in some respects) but finally the car is supposed to arrive at dealers on Monday 17th after nearly exactly 6 months after I ordered it. Our's is pretty much the same Martin but some how you seem to have gotten the truly horrible end of the deal. My blood would be boiling if it was me in that position!My car was all build on April 18th and it has taken a month to get to the dealers!! Couldn't quite work that out but could anyone explain any satisfactory reason for this? No one from VW in the UK can apparently tell me where the car is at any moment in time until it hits UK soil. True??

Brownbear, I can only assume it hit the shipping schedule slightly wrong but them not knowing where it is till it hits uk soil absolute b*l*c*s!! if they pulled their finger out they have access to all the shipping info that we can get and more!

Andy, brill! is the pic via webcam? (assume you're still offshore) & has the gf been dispatched to collect yet??

Brownbear I am really happy that yours is finally turning up. Atleast one of us is getting somewhere. Don't believe the bullshit VW feed you because that's all it is. Right from the point of ordering I have been spoonfed bullshit. They act like they are Aston martin. It's really sucked everything out of what should have been an enjoyable experience. I found out today that my dealer didn't even have the correct part number for my folding mirrors. The part number it did have was coming up as unknown extra and was most likly a bug reason for the hold up I am told. I really wish people could do there jobs and do it right. Andy the car looks stunning mate bet you can't wait.

Just a small update from me.... no news yet! I am over 6 months now! I am still driving my GT and the dealership (who I have bought cars from for 16yrs - the same salesman) have said they will not demand the car from me but will honour their part of the deal which is fantatstic. I have offered them my car if they find a buyer in advance (we have a 3rd car that lives in the garage all week and just gets driven at weekend!).

VW CS are useless and cannot give any indication of the due date or even a reason for the delay! They are sympathetic but that is just irritating! I am very jealous of the beautiful cars posted here, but I suppose I am getting a 2011 model (not that it is THAT exciting! ) and I may have it for September...but honestly, I am not holding my breath.

Been on the blower to VW customer service today, they are about as much use as a chocolate fireguard, still telling me i have no unconfirmed build wk and the delay is with the DSG gearbox. With regards to a gesture of goodwill "contact your dealer" i don't think the dealer is going to give a discount as they are honoring my part exchange and the delay is costing them. How do i go about getting a discount? who would you contact? what would you do? please HELP

Finally got a priority build week, got moved forward 4 weeks and now confirmed week 24. This is still terrible considering I ordered in November but its nice to have it confirmed and will have the 2011 model

Well done Martin,creating a baby would have been quicker lol, how did you get a priority build wk? could do with a bit of advice. Build wk 24! a lot better than 28!! when would you expect to take delivery? or will you wait till SEP for the new reg? and do you know what if any the differences are between a 2010 model and a 2011 model?

No worries mate. Yes I am happy I finally got it confirmed but it's still not great. To get the priority build week I moaned alot. I was also lucky enough after my 400th call to get somebody who really wanted to help me. My dealer could not even believe I got them to do it. He had been trying for weeks. But I also think because they input one of the part numbers wrongly they had made a big mistake. I will be taking a 10 reg when it arrives in July I never like middle of the year plates and I have already bought mine which I'm going to get them to pay for. As far as I know though the changes are not big only a spare wheel in the R rather than a puncture repair kit.

UPDATE,Been on the phone to VW CS [again] was told today that they are waiting for the updated 2011 sat nav and its much better and worth waiting for LMAO!! I eventually composed myself and said "you are joking right" pause, CS reply "i see you have changed your order twice" at that point i was hyperventilating and after some time with a brown paper bag said "so its the 19s,smoking pack and sensors which i added at wk 14 and 16 that have put it back to week 23" placed on hold listening to Roy singing "i drove all night" for 2 minutes [irony] came back with "its because of the backlog and we are allocating slots for the 2011 models" i replied "so what wk am i, am i still unconfirmed wk 23",more inappropriate music "no you have not got any wk confirmed or unconfirmed until the new slots have been allocated, phone back in 2 weeks"
I bet i crash this car on the first day
