Please Don't Shoot Me - BUT ......

Post by BigPete »

Does anyone put a dog in the hatch? Is it a decent size for a German Shepherd Dog?

Also, has anyone fitted a TowBar to their Sciroco yet? I assume that one can be fitted? No intention to tow a caravan or HorseBox - just a small trailer, maybe a JetSki/small speedboat.

I know of someone who has put a dog or two in the back, it would depend whether the dog lays down or stands up as to whether it will be suitable long term. worth getting a hatchbag if you do decide it is suitable (you should be able to get some discount see here)

towbars can't be fitted to the scirocco (has been discussed before) so sadly you'll need to find a weekend shed suitable for pulling the toys around

oh & :welcome:

Hmmm, it's a Suzuki Swift 993cc ..... I fear for its very being if I tried towing with that ...... it's the second car I wanted to buy that have no Towbar option - it's getting very tedious

You wanted to put tow bar on a Roc R :(

Your probably right the swift doesn't sound quite up to the challenge...

Well, yes .... it should be open to all, whether they tow or not - surely?

It's a pity, cos I quite fancied one ......

Anything in the VW Stable which will Tow, take a dog and deliver high performance too?

Thanks .... not sure I'm ready for a big 4x4 yet?

Took out a Golf T1.4 GT today ... staggeringly good car - for a 1.4 it is amazing in its power delivery.

Looked again at the Scirroco - nice.

The Megane Coupe looks similar, as does the new Astra .... both these are considerably cheaper and with bigger boots and TowBars available, and the quality is getting there from these other marques.

If you want that, you buy Golf GTI, not a rocco.

A casual glance at the Megane and Astra (both of which look better than they ever have before) can lead you to believe there's a strong resemblence between them and the Scirocco. Right up until the second you see the Scirocco parked next to either car; then they're as alike as a silk purse and a sow's ear.

How about a tdi quattro A3, not many about but they do exist, can't imagine that would struggle towing.

I've had a fully grown retriever in the boot of mine. A one off as it was an emergency vets appointment but he did fit!

you'd have to be prepared to lift up your german shepard due to the depth of the boot
