Creek Noise in Windscreen

Post by steveargy »

Hi

I picked my new Roco up at the start of December. From the day I drove it away from the showroom I have heard a creeking noise coming from the windscreen - it sounded like the windscreen flexing where it meets the sunroof. It has been driving me mad for the last few weeks (so much so I have been turning up the music just so I could not hear it !). Just before Christmas I found out what it was .... it is the windscreen wipers 'rattling' or 'stuck and creeking' on the windscreen when they are parked - it seems to happen when I pull away or start the car from scratch - I now wipe the wipers once and the noise stops and does not come back. Has anyone else heard of this - could it be there are problems with the wipers. I do get a smear across the windscreen as they have wiped and returning back to the stationary position - very annoying - wiping again just makes it worse. Just curious if this is just a one off -- or if I need to get back to the dealer. Apart from this ... still think its fab -- black/truffle does get the heads turning. :)

Thanks for quick reply mate - and pointing me to the thread. Moving my wipers stops the rattle, and it worse when cold from start. Will take it up with my local garage (I did buy my car 200 miles away - so I hope the local garage will help).

I have posted on the other threads about this I have had mine back three times to the dealer and on each ocassion I get told there is nothing wrong I just use mine when it starts and it stops you would think that due to the amount of owners complaining about this vw would look into it but maybe I'm being stupid like most manufactures they have our money so tuff

Maybe it needs a heavier spring.
