Changes to your order... I had a dream...

Post by Snowfox »

Hi all. I was wondering if it is actually possible to add/remove options from an existing order, with a build date confirmed.

I have been reading through the forum and other sources that the Rear Parking Sensors are a must for the majority of the owners. I am having nightmares now of my Rocco's rear bumper completely scratched :( argh!!!

Should someone choose to add a last minute option to an existing order before build date kicks in, would this mess up the whole order or is it just not possible at all?

Thanks. :yes:

I think its best you talk to your dealer but have a read through using the search on "change + order".

Here's a relevant one.... http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... der#p28762" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I haven't got them, and I haven't once wished I had.

Have you ever had rear parking sensors before?
How is your spacial awareness, generally?

The rear light cluster sticks out of the side of the car, so if you're reversing up against a wall or something, they give you a pretty good guide as to where the back of the car is.

If it's really worrying you, then get them added. Personally, I think you should stop worrying, you'll be just fine without them.

I have my order confirmed for week 18 (ordered march 30th) and phoned my dealer a few weeks ago to ask if I could add 19" Luganos to my order and cancel the winter pack. The car had already been confirmed as build week 18 at this point and he said if I wanted to change the spec, the car would have to be removed from the production queue and go to the back and wait for a new build week. I decided not to as I'd like the car as soon as possible and will hopefully be getting it the end of May/early June, which is a lot quicker than I expected. It seems it is possible to make changes but only if you're prepared to wait longer for the car

I thought parking sensors were one of those things that could be added after anyway?

they can be retrofitted but they will not have the display on the radio screen as well as the audible beeps, retrofits are only audible

I have the (factory) parking sensors fitted and frankly they are a waste of time and even annoying when the head unit mutes to start the OPS. Wish I hadn't wasted the money on them as the car is easy to reverse and doesn't need them you end up with an ugly bumper IMHO

Ive got them and I find they are realy good. Especialy in the tight confinds of the road I live in. They take a little getting use to as they are a quite missleading as they say you are closer than you realy are. But as long you dont have a set build date or is a long way off you should be able to change it slightly.

Hmm... interesting inputs... I think I can survive without. I may regret not having them factory fitted but I do not think I will be that needy for a retrofit either. I also hate the idea of radio-mute-buzz-mute-radio too. All in all, it seems a nice-to-have-but-it-will-not-get-you-killed sort of option. Besides, I could not forgive myself if the order got back in the queue and delayed any further, eek!!

I agree - on lighter colours in particular, the sensors affect the exterior view of the Roc from the back, by breaking up the lines of the rear bumper.
