It is used for accepting or ending a call if you have the factory installed phone kit otherwise it has no functionallity.

Hi Guys,

I think if you don't have phone prep, it will mute the sound from the unit too.

Cheers
Nick :)

Mine doesn't mute the radio but the phone button on the head unit does.

Yip just double checked - the "star" button on the steering wheel and the phone button on the head unit both mute sound on mine. :)

But does the phone button on your wheel mute the radio as well as the star button??

Not for me, it's just the star and the "PHONE" button on the radio, the phone on the steering justs looks pretty. That's also what the dealer told me before the car arrived - so for me it's annoying but as expected.

 Iroc mine behaves in the exactly the same way that rehmondo describes. The PHONE button on the steering wheel does nothing.

Wonder if it makes a difference that yours is the satnav unit.

Don't think so as rehmondo's or NickO's don't have the nav unit.
