VW servicing deals
Hi, I should be picking up my pearl black R in a couple of days and I've been offered a servicing deal to cover the first 3 years / 30k miles (whichever comes first) for £250 excluding consumables. Is this a good deal compared with what others have been offered? Should I take it?

Re: VW servicing deals
I negotiated 3 years servicing for free with my R. Keep pushing. If not though it's worth getting you will spend alot more than 250 on servicing your R in the next 3 years.

Re: VW servicing deals
Was that when you first ordered the car or after you had spoken/seen the dealer again Martin? I'll be going up shortly to dealers to discuss part exchange and finance but wondered what kind of deal I should be looking for. Do you know how often the % APR changes when it comes to VW financing deals. I think most always hover around the same figure but not sure exactly what that figure is at the moment. Anyone else taken out finance recently mind saying what % they got and what kind of deal they got please??

In terms of finance (PCP) just used the VW finance calculator on their website to get you an estimate:BrownBear wrote: I'll be going up shortly to dealers to discuss part exchange and finance but wondered what kind of deal I should be looking for.

For servicing I was sent these figures in the post in Feb 2010:
Based on 3 services package (interim, 20k/2yr, interim) + Free MOT for life = £520!
*also comes with 10% discount of repairs and labour
BUT no consumables!
Price breakdown without 'package' is: interim £138, 20k/2yr £278 + MOT = £608
BUT looking around the forums I noticed this link about fixed price servicing on all models

Hope this is of use to you

Re: VW servicing deals
Hey brownbear, I haven't taken finance, so I have no info on that I'm afraid. But I got my free servicing when I orderd my car. I argued with my dealer that it's fine if they can't give me discount on the car but thru can on the services the dealership offers so I just plugged away till I got free servicing and autoglym
Good luck

Re: VW servicing deals
I'm still not sure on taking this servicing deal for £250 with VW when I sort out my finance in a couple of weeks. Anybody got any good advice about taking it/not taking it? Just seems like oil changes and not an actual service so is it worth it?? Any new news with you martinjrose? Anybody know of any other service deals that they offer before you sign up?
Re: VW servicing deals
i went for the full service and maintenance plan over 3 years / 36k miles. it includes tyre replacement + roadside assistance + lots of other things. Ask about that one.
I almost changed my mind to jump on to this £250 deal but was told it is just a simple oil service per annum for 3 years and is not even close to what im getting on my current plan.

Brilliant-thanks for that. How much do you pay if you mind me asking for that roughly? I did read that about it being just a simple oil change and wondered if it was worth it

What does excluding consumables mean?
I was told it includes items like pollen filter replacement etc

Re: VW servicing deals
Everything replaced on a service is a consumable (oil, oil filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, air filter) - are they only providing service labour?

Re: VW servicing deals
i had a similar 3 yr service deal with my MkV Golf GTI.
I paid monthly for it, anyway when it came to the services it covered everything, all filters, even pollen filter, brake fluid change, brake pads, even Air con service which i was surprised about
During the 3 years i had my golf i did not pay for anything extra on any service visit.
I'm not sure if they have changed their policy on what they cover or not but i would get it in writing as to what they dont cover especially on the service front.
i hope this helps

Re: VW servicing deals
I've been given the impression by my dealer that the £250 service plan covers all servicing requirements in the first three years.
According to the official Scirocco price list:
Fixed price servicing – limited offer until 30 June 2010
3-year/30,000 miles (whichever is soonest) service plan comprising:
12 months/10,000 miles: Oil change service
24 months/20,000 miles: Interval service (including oil change)
36 months/30,000 miles: Inspection service (including oil change), Brake fluid change

Re: VW servicing deals
Been told today that anyone taking out a PCP deal with VW for the forseeable future gets the service and maintenance (£250 new deal) for FREE!!!!
VW customer services seems to think (and have told my dealers) that my car has arrived in Sheerness but my dealers are still showing as the car being on the boat this afternoon so no idea who is right or wrong. Why can't they track the cars more efficiently like with DHL or Parcelforce do with CD's or DVD's!!!!
My car was built week commencing April 12th (think that was BW 15) and finished later that week according to system. If it has just left Portugal then that's an absolute disgrace in my book. Far too slow considering I ordered the car in middle of Nov 09
