OEM Diverter Valve

when i did some logs with Revo when we uploaded the Stage 2 code to the car we noticed my rocco appeared to have a boost leak from the data, consensus was car was probably fitted with the rev G dv which is prone to splitting on mapped cars, my car has one 29k now (2k2 of those mapped)

booked car into dealers stated they should physically check the dv, needless to say they ignored said request as there were no fault codes showing and seemed ok, they ignored request to examine it and said there was nothing wrong with the car, needless to say we agreed to disagree

given the car is mapped i ordered the rev D piston type from a local dealer and got a mate to put it on the ramps to swap it over.

needless to say its a different car, i won't name and shame said dealer but they are aware of the situation

Were abouts is the valve? looking at the picture looks like you would be able to see if you had the newer unit fitted without removing it!

unfortunately you need to access it from below, its beneath the turbo on the drivers side at the rear of the engine, its a straightforward job when you car is 5 feet in the air

Wigit. Do you have a part number (and price) for the revision D valve? I'm looking to go down this route as well and my local parts dept aren't very good without part numbers.

ED part number is 06H-145-710-D they are around £52 from memory with the VAT

only issue is its accessed from underneath but 3 botls and its done, US forums seemed to think the first TSI cars were running G and later cars had D, can't remember how old yours is so can't say whether you have it

plenty of these running on 350bhp stage 2+ golfs

in reality ED i haven't got a clue which ones do and don't, i wouldn't have bothered changing it until it failed anyway, i just knew a rev D was going back on it, got to remember some maps run more boost than others

Yeah. I just have the feeling that the car's not as fast as it used to be but to be honest that may just be me taking the performance for granted and being used to it now. The Bluefin is a fairly conservative remap as oppossed to more hardcore stuff like REVO so I'm not even sure that it would knacker the DV valve anyway.

its a weird on ED as the car was still performing quite well with it, in reality its worth getting some logging done as that shows if there is a leak and the most obvious point of failure is the DV, in reality £50 in the grand scheme of things isn't much and can give piece of mind

No actually but it's a very good idea. I've not had it for long and don't know how to do this. Do you? or can you point me in the right direction to find out? May be something on the Ross-tech site but I haven't looked yet.

I changed my own one on my ex GTI. Took a while cos I hadnt read anything. Needless to say its a quick and easy job once you see pics.

Just checked ETKA now, If yours was made before 1 April 09 it wont have the new D revision, as the G revision was dropped end March 09 when replaced with D.

Yep it was made before then. Can you change this on the Scirocco without having the car on a ramp?

Went a run earlier. Doesn't look like I have a boost leak after all. Well, based on my own interpretation. Maybe someone more experienced can verify or tell me different? Are these numbers anything to worry about?

bloody hell a BF map running over 2 bar boost holy sheeeeeet!

i reckon u have a bit of drop off tho between 4500 - 5500. could be fuel pressure problem so boost couldn't be sustained in that area.

have seen this drop before on the old TFSI engine (is yours the old one or new one??)
