New Climate Unit on GT

Post by jonallen628 »

Browsing the internet today and came accross a 59 plate 2.0 TSI with the new style climate control unit so it looks as though the latest model year changes are now filtering through. Anyone looking to upgrade to the new style unit should now be able to get hold of the plastic surround in the proper GT colour. Piano black dash inserts now available as an option in the uk also, sorry if this is old news.

don't believe so, (don't know why they would bring extra functions in on climate control or what extra functions they would add) it just does not have a screen to display the temp on its on the radio screen instead & the heated seats have turn knobs rather than push buttons iirc

I've just seen this new unit in my local showroom, and there is no apparent way to control the heated seats?

Can anybody with a 2010 car comment on this? It was an obvious and easy opertaion on the 2009 cars with the rotary nob.

Also why change the unit again so soon?

And what other changes have been made?

Cheers

changes were - black outline on needle, revised (golf mk6 climate unit), rns 510 voice control, visual gear change on 2.0Tsi & 140Tdi, new leather option (cornsilk & beige)

(thread here http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... 45+changes" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

The climate unit was changed to bring it inline with the golf mk6.

the seats are now iirc: press the turn knob & then turn to set or press X number of times to set (see pic here or here)

Its a nicer looking unit. The heated seat option gives you some little scroll buttoms to adjust them on the unit.

The new heated seats are indeed controlled by the pressing the temp control knobs, press once they are on full, twice they are half way, three times are the lowest setting. press once more and they are off.
Married and Blond, yes. Still a guy with a poor taste in user names.

I got my 2.0GT a couple of weeks ago and I have the newer unit.
It's great if you just want to set and forget it, but I think its needlessly complicated to adjust whilst you are driving.
Too many small buttons IMHO
