Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
my build was week 8 had an update to say its was built but thats it will be on the boat yet ? If it is the african highway ship is in the english channel.
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
heres the thread for tracking the delivery ships tommy http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... &start=180" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
it depends when your car was finished as to whether it has shipped yet or not, the african highway left early on monday morning so if it was finished last week then it may have made it, if not it will be waiting for the next ship (see thread linked above for any updates)

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Just had confirmation from the delaer that my build week at will be delivered to them late next week. I like it when a plan comes together.....
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
They have found my car! The lorry driver forgot to stop at my dealership ..... when he arrived at the next dealership there was some bloody Scirocco in the way, so he dumped it in the car park and unloaded the other cars ..... It has sat there for two weeks un noticed! Looks like I might get it next Wednesday. Such a shame I didn't get my beloved car on 1st March for a completely stupid reason

Called the dealer yesturday and my car is on a boat on its way no idea when but at least they've built it. Cant wait for it as the Polo 1.2 they lent me is very poor. Ordered the car end of October so 5 months for delviery.

Been to see it today ... looks very sad, covered in bird poo and very grubbyfastjedi wrote:They have found my car! They are PDI'ing it tomorrow. Lets hope its O.K when they deliver it in Wednesday
Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
thats really not good jedi.
check the paint very carefully where you remember there being bird poo as it etches the laquer really easily. if its not up to scratch/noticeably etched I think you'd be well within your rights to tell them you are taking it to a professionally detailer to get the paint corrected & you will be billing them for it.

Delivered.
Top car, well worth the wait.
How do they make an oil burner go like that?
Try and get some pic's up at the weekend.

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Got it
- Company car form completed Mid September
- Order placed with dealer 4th November
- Car arrived UK (via Emden) beginning of February
- Car delivered to wrong dealer mid February and lost!
- Car found last Wednesday
- Delivered to correct dealer last Friday
- Delivered today 10/03/10
There is one small (bird shite) mark on the rear bumper ... I am hoping I can polish it out at the weekend.
Initial impressions Vs old car (2005 Audi A3 S Line TDi DSG)
- Direct injection engine is much quieter
- Ride quality is much better
- All together better handling / road holding ... but too soon to comment really
- Much better attention to detail design .... and more toys
And the best thing .... It is so good to have a manual gearbox, especially as DSG's start to develop some odd tendancies at 90K+

Re: What's your Build Date? (Estimated or Confirmed)
Went to my dealer today to get some work done on my Touran - minor things before the 3 year warranty expires.
Salesman checked my order and BINGO - confirmed for week 14 build date. Forecast delivery is first week of May
Not sure who is more excited - me or my six year old son!
Also saw that the dealership is among the prize winners within VW for quality of service - I'm sure they will look after me really well to keep that accolade. Seriously, they have been a good bunch over the past three years which is why I ordered my car from them.
Now, 20 days left in March, 30 in April plus say 5 in May - that's only 55 days to go, barring a shift in production schedules or the transport ship getting stuck somewhere....
Roc and roll !!!
