Alternative to autoguard?
Hi due to take my new roc end of march and having read opinions on dealer applied products it seems there are better options. Does anyone know of a good detailer in the midlands, car being delivered to tamworth. And any idea of what it should cost?
Re: Alternative to autoguard?
our very own autoperfection offer detailing services & are located not a million miles away autoperfection detailing services you ned to give T & J a call to find out prices though.
the standard/level of service, size of car & products used would all affect the price.. so wouldn't like to suggest a figure without some research online first

Thanks trix I'll give them a call, is the generial feeling that using detailers is a better option in terms of supior product?

also one thing to note is if you do get a new car detail its worth saying to your dealer not to do any prep to the car bodywork.
imo it depends on your competancy & enthusiasm & finish you want to obtain, I clayed, washed & waxed mine the weekend after I got it & it looked all the better for it & I was happy with the finish, if you want paint correction & the full works to start the car off then unless you have all the kit & experience yourself then you're better going to a professional detailer

Hi Andy,
In our opinion it is better to have a detailer carry out a new car prep than it is to have an Autoguard or similar product applied... but then, we're bound to say that, aren't we?!!
The truth is, if you go for Autogaurd, you're in the hands of the dealer and you're at the mercy of the skill level of the person who is applying it. You may be lucky and get someone who is highly skilled, and takes pride in his work and takes his time applying it to ensure it's done correctly. Reality is, the guys who apply this in dealerships are the valeters, who will more than likely have a number of other cars to do that day and their main priority will be to get the job done as quickly as possible, rather than as well as possible.
With a detailer, you're gauranteed someone who takes pride in their work because believe me, you couldn't be a professional detailer unless you loved your job... it simply wouldn't work because you simply wouldn't have the dedication and attention to detail needed to be a detailer!
Whether you give us a call and we go down the road of giving you prices and getting the work booked in, or you find an alternative detailer and you opt for having them do the work, we would still recommend that you go with a detailer rather than a dealership - unfortunately we've had to rectify too many bodge-jobs to be able to confidently recommend having any work done at dealership.
We have agree with Trix regarding the prep work as well - we recommend to people who are taking delivery of a new car to specifically ask that the dealer not wash it or prep it for you... again, we've seen the damage that can be caused just by having it washed at a dealership.
If you do want us to talk through options available and prices involved, feel free to give us a call or send us a PM and we can go from there... either way, hope this helps
All the best
