Candy white 1.4 DSG

Post by skyblues11 »

At last!! after waiting since July, i picked mine up on saturday the dealer.

Just a standard 1.4 in white with donningtons. The DSG is abs. seamless. just like a PS2 accelorator!

But i have a business trip in italy, so have to wait another week becore i can fully explore it.

and worst still, the manual did not come with the car, so i have no idea how to adjust certain functions. They had sent an empty box so its not like someone had forgotten. The dealer said they will send the pack to me as soon as it arrives from Germany.

finally, why is it so hard to reach for the seatbelt?!

You're right about the DSG box, it's an absolute pleasure. I love using it either in manual or fully auto. Just brilliant.

Don't forget to post pics. Not that many with original Doningtons, so I'd like to see 'em.

Gary

well, not much really Gary_monkey. Ordered it and was told production was scaled back. ETA x'mas.

X'mas came and still nothing. I thought ok, might as well hang on. In my job, i travel a lot so a month is very short. The came Jan and the dealer told me it was in production and ready for collection come end of the month. Considering the downturn and the down tooling, then suddenly restarting production, can't really blame them. Firthermore, nearly everywhere are having these scrappage schemes.

anyway, had the car on the 6th, but have to leave it at my mums because my airport parking was booked with the company car, with my mum's car ( i borrowed since last summer) here at home. When i was back last wkend, i drove it but i had to return the company car, as well as giving my mum's car a good service to sort out any niggles. Its 10yrs old, so deserve one.

if all else goes well, i should swap it back this coming wkend and start living with the scirocco.

this is why i did not have a chance to take any good picts. yet

you know, after so many months, 2 weeks is nothing....

i have no experience with 19" wheels, but i feel the 17" absorbs the unavoidable potholes better, especially those big ones from the big freeze

its too cold to do any outdoor shots, so i have done some in-car picts. instead.

but since everyone knows how the cockpit looklike during the day, i have done some night shots showing the red lights.

i am no expert with photo taking, so forgive me if you don't see much! hopefully it will be enough to give an idea...

Hi Shum!

there is a light in the pedal area, for both driver and passenger. Very useful when you are searching for the mobile charger.

there is also a red light that projects downwards from the rear view mirror. this makes the gearlever red, as well as your hand, like in a photo developing room.
