R HAS ARRIVED
Picked it up this am and spent all day polishing. Very very nice although lower plastics inside not as nice as a Mk6 Golf.
Be careful when polishing the solid black plastic bits outside as they are prone to picking up hairline scratches that can be seen in some light situations but I am being very picky. Door mirrors are fine it's the bits in the front and rear bumpers and each side of the rear glass. Manual box is excellent with a nice clutch pedal action. Very please with choosing 18" wheels, look good and not under tyred with a better ride on normal setting than my MK5 GTI on 18's. Pics to come. Must stop cleaning and actually drive it!!!!!!

Sounds great. I can't wait to see your photos. I also chose the 18", the 19" are a NZD 2k option, and as the price was getting up had to stop somwhere.

Re: First Impressions
The car is delicious although I will run it in properly before I drive it like i stole it. I can still hoon around in my rally car a Peugeot 205GTI 1.9 which is doing an event in Devon next weekend.
Anyway back to my baby. It makes a lovely growly noise and feels as though it will fly. Brakes are perfect, progressive and not grabby at low speeds like the 2.0 DSG i drove before ordering the R. Just went to fill up and got accosted at the petrol station twice by very nice people wanting to see it!!!!!! Car is comfy and just feels right although b..... big doors.
Impressed with the upgrade radio and worth the money. For me the 18's are perfect. Lovely silky ride in comfort and quite liveable in sport as I am an old boy but not telling how old except under 60.19's have the same rolling diameter and for all of you that think it rides on stilts just look at the standard car which sits 10mm higher. The photo supplied is misleading as the drive slopes back making the back end sit higher on the handbrake. I think we all thought the R would be that low the exhaust would drag on the ground but trust me it looks good in the flesh whatever size wheels.
All of you still waiting for your R you are in for a big treat. Happy motoring to all Scirocco drivers.

Re: R HAS ARRIVED
I like my Car's a bit lower than stock, just prefer the way it looks and less Body roll is always nice. But when I watch this vid It looks spot on from the side and the wheels look perfectly placed in the arches. Gues I'll wait and see how I like it.

Hi Anakin,
See what you mean. It looks as though the white one has been lowered and looks mean. I will wait a while before I take a hacksaw to the chassis!!!!!!
