Satnav 4 digit post code question

Post by cpjames »

Hi Guys,

Regarding the 4 digit post code lookup, how does it work? Do you enter the 4 digits then use some other method to get to your exact address?

Presumably you can still use town/street/number type lookup?

I am just trying to understand this as a current Tom Tom user :-)...

Four digit code will only find your Town/Village, you will still have to put in the road name in full and the house number (if it supports this) look at Pioneer AVIC-F900BT of 700BT if you want a top system, used with proper fitting kit and Can bus interface (for steering wheel controls) its the Dogs and half the price of the OE system...........

I find the 4 digit system fine. After entering the 4 digits you enter the road. It will predict the roads so after entering say 1 or 2 letters it comes up with all the rads in that area starting with them, You then put in a number and this is also predictive.

I find it works great.

Im happy with that, it doesnt really sound like much of a hassle...

I really want an integrated system as whilst i am a long time Tom Tom user my dash always looks a bit "Heath Robinson" with my PDA holder attached to the windscreen etc :-)

Thanks for the info.

I also like the fact that the commands, time to destination and direction are shown in the mfd as well. It is nice having an integrated version.
