Hi Rowla

Fiscon is a very popular system, see here http://www.kufatec.de/shop/index.php/ca ... rocco.html not sure if kufatec would ship to south africa or that there might be a local distributer?

fyi you aren't missing alot with the factory bluetooth

________

I had the same problem in the Uk with my 09 roc. I Fitted a VW unit that the dealer can fit as an aftermarket. its a touchscreen interface that sits on your front dash to the right of the steering wheel. its acts exactly as if you had a bluetooth in the car system. However i am in the process of asking VW to wire the aftermarket interface with the phone button on the steering as this does not work.

All in all its a good system. its called VW Bury THD CC-9060 Bluetooth Car Kit. so that might be another option

I had the Parrot ck3100 fitted a couple of days ago, seems to do the job nicely so far.

the decision you have to make with all these options rowla is do you want an integrated solution or do you not mind havin a screen located somewhere in the car

I had the dealer install one of these prior to collection also. Mines located to the left of the steering wheel, just to the right of the head unit. I'm really pleased with it. Also I can take it to my next car if I wish, although I guess some better technology will be out by then.

I didn't think there was any connection/interface with the steering wheel button? I'm under the impression it is a completely stand alone system. But hey, prove me wrong!

Tremor Audio http://www.tremoraudio.co.za bring in the Fiscon to South Africa...but it's not cheap. R6000 last time I checked having said that the Fiscon unit is the most unobtrusive and all the buttons work and the MFD works properly.

Otherwise if you have some friends in the UK. Order it from http://www.fiscon.co.uk. Do a search in these forums for the discount code because you belong to this forum. I think it is 10%. Fiscon UK does not ship to South Africa but have it shipped to the above mentioned friend and ask them to ship it to South Africa. Then you can either as the dealer to install it are install it yourself. Just bear in mind that you will need a VCDS/VAGcom cable to code the car to it.

Can we not maybe do a bulk order, I would also be interested in this if the price is not too bad.

Hi All

So tomorrow will be the two week annivesary of my shadow blue roc arrriving. She growls like a tiger cub. Love her...!

Anyway, I had the Premium Bluetooth fitted at the dealer (not the factory). Its fine, BUT I do not have a 'phone' menu on my dash (the MFA). So currently I can only use the phone via the RNS510, which means no SMS retrieval. The manual states that it is possible to view SMS's via the MFA but that a technician has to "install" the menu on your MFA.

Does anyone know how I can solve this problem? The dealer has not been very helpful. The guy who installed it had not even read the manual.

Thanks

Dealer ofcourse needs to make it work before delivering the car...!

I think it is just setting the dashboard computer to Phone=yes with the VAG-COM (special cable and PC program)

Quite easy to fix, if it is working with the RCD/RNS there is no reason why it should not be working with the MFA as well.
Please provide your coding for module 77 (VAS soft on the dealer, VCDS if you have access to it). I believe third digit identifies what kind of MFA you have, if your module has been coded for red MFA and you have a white one it will not work, and viceversa.

I did a self install of a Fiscon (Kufatec) in my Roc. It works flawlessly with my RCD 510 radio and MF steering wheel.
Barons in Bellville Cape Town ticked the box on the software.
The install is easy (pull the plug from the radio and fit the "extension"
The hands free kit really finishes off the car properly. Buy it direcly from Kufatec Germany (about R3600) and there service is GREAT.
