Sherlock Holmes

Post by Kev »

I went to see Sherlock Holmes last night. Pretty good.

Robert Downey Jr is excellent as the eccentric Holmes, although it's not the same kind of character as the old Basil Rathbone films but apparently it's closer to the books. Considering it was a Guy Ritchie film, it was very well directed I thought. Very atmospheric and some good set pieces. Excellent CGI too with the London backdrops having Tower Bridge under construction and the old look to the colour hues.

8/10

yeah saw it just after it came out at christmas, I thought it was quite a good balance between action & the actual historical element which seems to get lost in some films

Went to see this at Christmas too (sometime to do to fill one of the long evenings).

Not a big cinema goer anymore, didn't know much about the film (was my mates choice) and wasn't expecting much at all.

Was very pleasantly surprised, really is an excellent movie, thoroughly enjoyed it. Downey Jr great in the role, very cool performance. Agreed, would give it 8/10 too.
