They still had most of the white wrap on them, but the Golf R is a dark blue (almost dirty blue) the Scirocco R is the shadow blue I think, looked to me like the same colour as the one in the autocar magazine....

I'm assuming they'll be demo cars, which means there's an excellent chance that the Hawco dealer in Peterhead, will be able to 'borrow' their Scirocco R for a few days, so I'll be able to book a test drive Woo Hoo!

I've already emailed my local dealer with my test drive request, just to get the ball rolling (...ever the optimist ;) )

On a good day, Inverness is about a 2hr drive from where I live, so I might also plan a wee day trip out, armed with digital camera. It might be worth phoning Inverness in advance to see if a test drive can be arranged even sooner :yummy:

I think it's time do dig out the Yellow Pages chaps!

The sales guy I spoke to at Hawco Inverness said he was not aware they had a Scirocco R at all. He said the Golf R is getting it`s PDI and would be available for test drive next week. He said he would get back to me if he found they actually do have a Scirocco R!!

My salesman pointed out the Roc R to me in the garages, they are three dodgy looking things around the back, have three white doors like a normal house garage doors. His words were "I've set your alloys in the garage next to the Roc R" he then pointed and I could see the arse end of it. He never suggested it was a secret so thats how I spilled to you lot...

Don't want my salesman to get in trouble... :p

I got this message from the sales guy...."Thank you for your telephone call earlier today. I checked with our Sales
Manager we definitely do not have a Scirocco R model here."

I'll check again on Friday when I pick my Scirocco up. I could see the back end of it and it had a single exhaust on the right hand side, couldn't see the other side as it was hidden by the garage pillar...
