Had an email today off the dealer, my R has just gone into production and says i will see it mid-march at the latest.
Will probably be here end of feb but im waiting until march 1st anyway.
A weight has been lifted off my shoulders as i have to trade my GT in and already been given quotes, plus not to clash with my holidays etc.

It's all worked out well, i believe my original build week quote was 2 or 3. :hyper:

I'm jealous I just called VW CS and mine has still not been assigned a build week ordered it Nov 9th.

1 things for sure they are not building all the UK R's in 1 run.
interestingly my sister Ordered a Rising Blue 2.0l DSG, went to VW UK in October allocation and is confirmed build week 4.
Possibly they are building manual car's quicker ?

I think a lot depends on dealer allocation.
The R allocation comes out of their normal monthly allowances so if they are allowed 2 Rocs per month and already have 8 orders you will be waiting a while!
The dealer probably wont let on because they wont want to lose the sale.

In all fairness to my dealer, from day 1 he always said there should not be a problem getting my car for march. How he knew this i dont know which makes me think possibly Roc sales have been slow or dropped off at my local showroom. Infact he did say that when they first came out they were selling like hot cakes, then when the waiting lists were 6 months+ people were not bothering.

May be worth noting that i went to a different dealer who said they could not guarantee when i could get the R as they had already taken a couple of deposits ...but enough said about that dealership as they were a bunch of co*ks!

They could possibly be building manual gearbox options first, but then as they have already built some DSG R's (admittedly, left hand drive) im not so sure on this theory.

I wouldnt worry too much as the earlier cars in the production will probably have all the teething problems ...hence mine will probably be a friday afternoon car!!!

Well done that man :D

And if your car arrives before the end of February you should avoid that nasty 2.5% VAT increase as well :)
I'm really pleased that somebody has received an actual production date. I was going to post a message this week to see if anybody had heard what was happening with our orders.

My local VW dealer is 1 of 3 Hawco dealerships in the North of Scotland, Peterhead, Elgin & Inverness, and I was the first to place an R order in that group, so I'd like to believe that I'll hear something fairly soon. They had allocation for a couple of Golf & Scirocco R's, so I can't see that being the cause of any long delays. The only thing that will probably slow up my order will be all the damned options I've chosen!!!

So I've emailed the first post in this topic to my dealer to see if he can noise somebody up in VW CS, if only to try and get an estimated build week out of them. I've heard a big fat nought since I placed my order :grumpy:

I would imagine a lot of options could cause a bit of a delay, but I reckon the main delays are because dealers are using their roc allocations.
I think it's a general roc allocation not an R allocation. Which means if a dealer can order say 2 roc's per month, it makes no difference if it is a GT, R or whatever.

I've got unconfirmed week 15 and I am determined not to get even slightly ruffled by VW's lack of ability to meet customer orders in date order. :)

Spoke to VW CS just now, mine has been given an unconfirmed build week 13. They told me this could be brought forward or pushed back and that NO R's are in production yet for the UK!!! He said the 1st ones are to be built beginning of March...sounds like we are getting contradictory information, I don't beleive anythng they tell me anymore...well one things pretty sure, the snow will be gone by the time we see any R's on the road :lol:

i don't like the sound of that. Last month the sales chick at my dealership looked up my order on the VW system and it stated that production was 3.10....which she then checked with the principal who confirmed yes thats week 3 in 2010!

i will be mightly p'd off if it doesn't arrive by April at the latest.

Well that a load of BS cuz as you can see from other threads UK rocs have already started arriving, and why would my dealer lie in saying mine is being built now.

But aren't the ones arriving the demos.... I am sure that some dealers will get RocR demo cars A lot of dealers will have allocated these cars to customers - so the one that arrived at a dealers in crewe ( the white one on another thread) may be a stock car that has been allocated to a customer??

My build week is still unconfirmed. I expect it will go back :rolleyes: I am usually that lucky :shrug: I think that people need to check if the build week dealers are quoting are confirmed or not. And fingers crossed yours IS in production Spamdog

Im sure your dealer wouldnt have told you it was being built if it wasnt Spamdog, i just think VWCS are a bit embarassed and tell me anything to keep me happy as i could still cancel my order......and im sure they haven't filled the quota's yet. I put my order in 11th Nov so thats probably why im down at week 13.

Can't wait to see pics of your R when it comes Spamdog, sounds pretty similar to the spec i've ordered :yes:

My dealer has finally got a build week for mine, 11. Week starting 15th March so should get it 2nd week in April.

Anyone want a lovely white GT Tsi then?

Looks like everyone is finally getting their build weeks through ...wonder how much of the 500 allocation was used up?

Had another update on mine. Now wk16!! was wk11 last week and 21 the week before Christmas - so I have no idea when its coming.
