Ordered Mine first week of December, dealer told me that he would'nt get a build week allocated until Jan!!! but estimated delivery for May time..

Just spoken to him and confirmed build wk6 with estimated delivery for mid March.
On one hand cool its coming early
On the other, my company car does not go back until mid May which means no car allowance paid out, no fuel card!
Has anyone ever tried pushing a build date back? and if so is it worth the effort? I got a good deal which is looking like near 10% with the increases in price, so dont want to give them a reason to try increasing the price.
Should I just happily except the extra car on the drive and take the cost on the chin and accept that I will be paying for a "weekend car" for the first couple of months?

I guess its a nice problem to have

Ordered mine end of November and got a build completion date of WW02. Dealer says it takes two more weeks to deliver to Ireland so expect to see it end of January. But I'll be holding my breath for this as having read some of the mails here I think he might be a bit over optimistic.

A few on here have been given confirmed build weeks, still waitin on mine. I ordered mine mid November, spoke to my dealer today and its still estimated at build week 5. Anybody think it will be worth chasing it up with cutomer services? As you can probably tell im gettin a bit agitated now!

Build complete week doesn't go firm until 3 to 4 weeks before the provisional *we'll build it here" week number you been told. So dealer should be updating you in the next week to 10 days.

I'm still on 'estimated' build week 6 after ordering 2 December 2009, but this is still not a 'definite' build week.

To reduce the temptation for me to make regular contact with the dealer or VW customer services (in my impatience) does anyone have a indication of how many weeks before 'definite' build date you can find out when the 'definite' build date is going to be -- or does this vary a lot?

Sorry if this is question has been answered somewhere in the previous 36 pages and I've missed it!

it generally gets confirmed 3-4 weeks before smithy. easily missed, probably mentioned in plenty of other threads somewhere on here too.

hi Leanne

I am not sure what to do about the 59 or 10 question......

On one hand I really want it now as it's been 5 months wait, but also given that I have waited 5 months already, another couple of weeks won't hurt.....

As to the vat increase I am not too bothered, as i would be able to pay the extra £500 or so easily once I have been paid at the end of feb 8)

So I am not sure what to do :? Not much help am I??!!!

Mightn't be that over optomistic. I'm in Ireland also. Ordered mine on November 9th and just got the call today to say that it's arrived at the dealership this morning. So, exactly 2 months from ordering to delivery. I'm shocked! When I'd checked with the dealer in the week or two before Christmas, he reckoned it was scheduled to be built early in the New Year and hoped to have me driving in it sometime before the end of January. In my mind, I'd reckoned it would be some time in February before I was motoring. Instead, could be sometime next week (but i've a bit of decision to make as to whether I I want to collect my first ever brand new car in this weather)!
http://www.sciroccocentral.co.uk/forum/ ... =10&t=3495

So, if you ordered towards the end of November, maybe your dealer isn't be that far off to expect to see it by the end of January. I wonder if the delivery schedule for Ireland is a bit different from the UK. I suspect that the car hasn't sold that well to date here in Ireland and that, for the country as a whole, they would not have reached the limit of yearly quotas or anything. Therefore, I suspect that there's no real waiting list and that any new car that gets ordered gets scheduled to be built almost straight away. I might be wrong on this, but this is just my own suspicions, based on various comments in the other threads and reading between the lines of what my dealer would have been saying to me when I was thinking or ordering back in November.

Where abouts in Ireland are you located?

Dealer has just advised that I am build week 4 (commencing 25th Jan) :hyper:

Ordered on 10th November and dealer had 1 spare allocation.

Hoping with shipping etc to get it in March with new 10 registration.
