what sort of SD card are you trying to use shaunipoos? I'm trying to find a post to explain it but there are specific types that are/aren't supported on each model radio

I read in the manual that you can use a 2bg sd or a maximum 32gb sd-hc. I use a 8gb sd-hc, no problems

There are a couple of considerations.

What is your model, sat nav or not?
Is it sd or sdhc?
What firmware are you on? Latest firmwares dropped support for WMA files, mp3 only.

My god! Why would they drop supprt for a superior format and keep an inferior one? Bad call VW!

Dunno, licensing? Dealer didn't know about it and replaced my hu thinking it'd gone wrong.

I bought a cheap new 16gb SD card from ebay. It only worked sometimes in the Roc. I suspect it was a cheaply made SD card. Roc kept saying 'No media' etc so I bought a Sandisk SD card from the high street and it works every time.

My 8gb card is a SD-HC and I have a rcd 510. Don't know if it's fat32 or ntfs, but it works all the time. As a matter of fact, I never had more than 200mb music on it.

I have an 8GB SDHC card and it works fine straight from the packet! No formatting required. Although mine is a wk45 changes, did I read somewhere that only post wk45 had SDHC support?

SDHC support depends only on the RCD 510, which is the same as it was when the car was first launched.

SDHC also works in RNS510 with updated firmware. Mine did!
